Excellent trail hiking shoes.
This is my first purchase of either a trail running shoe or the Salomon brand. I purchased them for hiking in the Teton mountain area. I was beyond impressed with these shoes!My first thought when trying them on were that they felt a little big. But when I put on my hiking socks and walked in them, they were actually spot on as far as size.They have "aggressive" treads on them. We did some hiking in rain/mud going over rocks and up and down hills. These shoes performed excellently. I never slipped.Speaking of wet and mud, I got pretty deep in some areas. In spite of the rain, my feet stayed dry and I was astonished that after nearly burying my foot in mud, after a quick walk through tall grass on the way back to the car there was virtually no mud on my shoes. The photos I'm sharing are AFTER wearing these shoes in two different mud situations and without any extra cleaning effort on my part aside from walking through grass. Very Impressed!Comfort is a big deal for me. I work on my feet and have had to have surgery in the past to relieve foot pain. I did not experience any pain from these shoes. They offered great support. I did not experience the muscle fatigue in my feet and legs that comes from compensating for ill-fitting shoes. My first impression, putting them on in my living room, was that they were not very cushioned. But out on the trails, I found them to be quite comfortable. The treads themselves seem to absorb much of the shock.I appreciate that this shoe is offered in a larger size. I searched several brands and there are very few that offer a Women's size 12. I've had to buy men's shoes in the past and it's hard when shopping online to know which men's size to try and they are, of course, styled toward men's fashion.Overall, these shoes far surpassed my expectations. Especially when the heavy rain started. Well worth the money spent.

Excellent Product! Great Engineering!
The shoe arrived just as I was going through the door from a trail run. I tried it on and it fit so well, and felt so comfy that I decided to wear it. I made no adjustments except to take the tag off. I'm usually a size 9.5 to 10. I ordered a size 10. My feet felt great during the 3 mile run and felt great after. The toe box was quite roomy and my heels were not slipping out. It's perfect for what I wanted, which is a lightweight, waterproof, running/hiking shoe. In addition, it is attractive on my big feet. My feet were quite toasty and warm in 30°F weather.

BEST grip, but laces don't last
These are fantastic. Hands-down and by far the best hiking shoes--with the best grip--I have ever had. Unfortunately the laces only lasted November to August (hiking on average 3 times week).

Great hiking shoes

Light, comfortable, relatively true to size, beautiful
These are, by far, the best pair of shoes I have ever purchased. I have purchased two other pairs of Salomon trail running shoes, which I loved, and these far surpass even those.I went a full size bigger to accommodate thick socks, and they will be perfect. You may want to go a half size bigger. Especially if you will be using these in the winter.I didn’t buy wide, because I have a high arch and the regular width helps that, but if you are a wide, then definitely go with a wide. These are slightly on the narrow side, so keep that in mind.I bought this same size in other Salomon’s and the other ones were too big for even thick socks.These shoes are amazing and worth every penny. You will not be disappointed!

Supportive and as described
Being that I am not "twenty-something" anymore, having supportive, comfortable, functional shoes with traction has proven to be of importance for me as I age. I am very active, but was frequently slipping or having discomfort when I would exercise. These Salomon's exceeded my expectations such far. Fit as per my size and not one ounce of discomfort, rubbing, tightness or anything picking at my feet, even when I wear without socks. No pain from rocks through the sole and footbed completely supports my archs and achilles. The traction is fantastic. I am looking forward to seeing how these perform when the conditions are snowy/icy. The Goretex works for my feet as my feet run cold, so they do not overheat my feet. I am not sure if I always had hot feet if they would be too warm...? These are pricey, but in my opinion, "you get what you pay for!" They have been worth the price for me.
