Alright, I just received these this morning and I feel the need to write a review, especially because of all the doubts I had when it came to the sizing and what to order. I'm normally a 7.5 (occasionally an 8, every now and then) and I lean more towards the wide-ish side (but not enough to get wide width shoes). I read some tips about stretching these out before wearing them, but I put them as soon as I received them and have been wearing them all day. Here's the deal: They are SUPER comfortable! No width issues whatsoever, either. Hoooowever, while the size 5 (US women's 7) does fit me, I think a 6 (US women's 8) would've been a little bit better, giving a little bit more space length-wise. If you're in between sizes, I'd say go up (unless you prefer the exact fit/borderline small scenario).Anyway, to say that I recommend them would be an understatement. They're lovely, classic, comfy, and have that wonderful set up of clean and simple lines that make them go with everything. They seem durable as well. When in doubt: Get them!

Based on other reviews for Saltwater Sandals, I decided to try these! They are adorable and seem really well made. Nice grippy rubber bottom, beautiful full grain leather straps, very adjustable ankle strap. Many reviews say these run a full size large and to size down. I decided to order two sizes: 3, which is the actual size my (very tall) seven year old wears now, and 2, in case they do run big. Her feet are on the wide side, with a high arch. The 3 fits comfortably with about 1/2" from her toe to the end of the sandal; I would say they do NOT run large, but fit as expected. I am returning the 2 and keeping the 3. She has only worn them once, so I can't support or refute the durability/waterproofness that other reviewers speak of. I'll update if they don't hold up as expected. The leather and buckle are stiff right now, but given my experience with other quality leather shoes, I think they will quickly soften up. They are not so stiff that my daughter complains of discomfort or that they make blisters; I just mean they are a bit difficult to buckle right now! As an aside, I ordered these in red for me, they are adorable and a beautiful perfect lipstick red. I wear a 10, I ordered the big kid 8, they are plenty wide, but not loose, but I think they are a bit short, and my big toe was hanging off the front just a hair. I found that uncomfortable, so I am returning them, but they are beautifully made, nice leather, gorgeous color.

Best overall sandals
This is the second summer I purchased these sandals for my granddaughters. They lasted so well last year we had to have them again this year. My daughter said they wore them pretty much exlusively all summer long. I bought silver last year and they wanted it again this year. They are 3 and 5 years old. The sandals really are amazing as they wear them in water parks, the beach, parks and church all while looking nice! I can't believe they can look good after wearing them for everything. Somehow they do!They run a little bit flat, and tight, but there are instructions on how to soak them in water to fit them to your feet. It works well. After doing that, they fit perfectly! One more thing I like is the buckle. It is not a velcro so it stays buckled until you unbuckle it. Nothing to wear out or fray! They are simply great sandals!

Adult sizing: Yes, these have little to no arch support and are pretty hard soled but they are far more comfortable than most of my thong style sandals because overall the foot is supported. Also, I am going to go against most of the reviews here regarding fit - I am a true 7.5, med-high arch, average width and narrowish heel. I ordered the kids 5/womens 7 and they are a perfect fit in width and length (my longest toe is a tiny bit below the stitched line). If I had gone by most reviews, I would have ended up with a size too big and if I had gone by Hoy's website measurements, I would have ended up with 2 sizes too big.Kids sizing: My little one has wears a 5.5-6 toddler depending on brand and style. Her feet have the average baby chub and are not particularly wide. I initially ordered a size 5 based on reviews that this shoe ran a half to full size big and it lined up with where she fell on Hoy's sizing chart. They were too tight in the width and because I couldn't get her foot in all the way, it was hard to determine if the length was ok or not. There were red marks and indentations from the straps on her feet and ankles. No amount of stretching was going to make them comfortable enough for her to want to wear them long enough to break in. I returned the 5's and ordered a size 6 toddler - they are a perfect fit in both length and width.

Great sandal, durable, cute, versatile, comfortable, but runs VERY wide. My daughter wears these too & they really stand up to water! Amazing. After reading some reviews I was worried about them running small. They fit great! I am 8.5 but sized up to 9. Perfect fit, just a tad roomy. I ordered wide width (see below)Revising this: Shoe widths are not listed correctly* I ordered these in wide width & found they were a bit too wide for me. I reordered a Medium width in a different color. Just got them & they are the same. I checked the Hoy website & there is NO mention of a wide width nor does the box indicate Wide width. Box reads 7 W9- which means 7 Big Kid Women's 9. So if you have narrow feet, which I do not actually- these will likely fit too roomy. But good overall sandal.
