Worth a try for high instep/angry feet!

I have a high instep, so I’ve always written off the traditional clog style of shoe. However, the foot pain* I’ve had brewing for years has gotten worse in the last six months; I also didn’t already have a pair of navy shoes (orange, yes; navy, no) so I thought I’d give these a shot. At this point, I don’t want to wear any other shoe. For me, the firm support without incline and non-constricting toe box are a lifesaver, even among “comfort shoes”. Because the sole is synthetic, they’re relatively quiet—no clomping around like the pair of Dansko mary janes I have (that have a downward pitch, I say regretfully after wearing them yesterday). The instep on the left shoe is a *bit* snug—the right one isn’t as tight—but I can still wear a lightweight wool sock with them. I also visited a local shoe repair shop, where the owner advised me to use the leather softening solution in the red bottle to stretch the insole while walking—this method is working well. He cautioned against using a stretching device since the leather upper is stapled to the sole.*Turns out I have a significant bunion (over 20 degrees with lateral sesamoid shift). I can’t speak to other foot concerns like PF or Morton’s, but the firmness of these/rocker-ish sole have been good. Less pain at the end of the day and the beginning of the next. I’m a public librarian and no, we don’t sit around reading all day (though my job is more sedentary than teaching or food service).

High Quality Shoes with Good Arch Support - medium width

Great shoe with good arch support. I bought them Summer 2013 and they still look brand new! I have flat feet and must wear shoes with support or put insoles in them. No need with sanita's. I've worn sanita's for over 10 years and before that Dansko's until they shipped their manufacturing to China thus changing the look of the toe area and sizing. I wear a size 37 regular width in Sanita's, Haflinger's, and Birkenstocks. That said, I like to wear size 7 in most shoes except trainers or hiking boots (7.5) but US shoes sizing is all over the map. According to Sanita's web site a 37 is a size 6.5. I believe Birkenstocks and Haflinger make the same claim. I can buy any sanita stapled clog or stapled sandal and order a 37 and they always fit the same. Dansko's professional clog do run larger and wider I didn't like the feel of the 37 of those (my foot floated in them and I'd have to size down if I bought them). I'm able to wear thick socks, thin socks or no socks with this shoe and my feet don't float in them but fit perfectly. Some reviewers said they were stiff out of the box but I didn't think so though I do recall when I first bought them and wore them with my smart wool hiking socks that they may have rubbed a bit across the top of the shoe. I don't have high arches (but have flat feet) and my feet are regular width and I have slim ankles (if that makes any difference). I recently measured my foot (just the footbed area for sandals) to check sizing for another shoe and it measures 23 cm long. If you're not sure... Sanita or Dansko's, I would say that Dansko's 37 are larger and wider by 1/2 size. So if you have a narrow to medium sized foot, go with the Sanita's and if your foot is wider, then go with Dansko's. They are sized differently. Amazon has free returns so go for both and try them out!

Comfort

These shoes are better than expected. They don’t need to be broke in! I have an arch support and a cushion inner sole that I didn’t expect. I used to wear Dansk, but their quality has changed and I’ll never go back. These shoes are perfect for me. excellent quality & excellent comfort.

they are very comfortable but way too big. my 6.5 is more like an 8. would recommend with thick socks, perhaps.

Great shoe but unfortunate sizing

I have a pair of Sanitas from years ago, and the 40 fits fine. The 40 in this shoe was simply too tight, with my toes pressed right up against the end. Just received the 41s, and my feet are swimming in them. Am keeping them because I ordered these as house slippers--something I can wear at home without my orthodics. But I wouldn't do any serious walking in them, due to their looseness. I tried on some recent Danskos in a local department store, and they were horrible. The Sanitas are definitely a better shoe.

Sanita clogs are THE BEST!!

When my 13-year-old Dansko shoes finally wore out, I began looking at purchasing a new pair. As I did some research online, I found out that the Dansko shoes are not the same as they were 13 years ago. They are now made in China and are not the quality they used to be. Yet, the price does not reflect the quality. Then I came across a post and found out that Sanita clogs are the same as the original Dansko shoe. The price was MUCH better than the Dansko, so I took a chance on ordering a pair. They are AMAZING!! They are EXACTLY like my old Danskos!! They are so comfortable and the quality is exceptional. I have a problem with my metatarsal bone in my right foot. Every step I take, in every pair of shoes hurts. It feels like an icepick in my foot. NOT when I wear my new Sanitas! Absolutely NO pain at all. I wear them every day to teach in and always when I go shopping. They are my go-to shoes. Thank you for keeping the quality high and the price very affordable. I will be a long-time customer as long as you continue to make such a quality shoe.

Love Sanita!

Very comfortable. Easy to walk in and I can wear them all day. One review stated slightly narrow and I found them so but not too narrow. I normally wear a 10 medium in US shoes but a prior pair of similar clogs in a 9.5-10 proved too small. I could get them on but just barely. Since I would have normally considered a 10.5-11 too large I thought the slight narrowness of this clog would be helpful and it was. The Sanitas are snug but not too tight. Nor are they too long in length. The material with the shoes stated that I should be able to slip a pinky behind my heel in the back of the shoe and I can do so. Very pleased.
