loving my Kinvara 5s

I am loving my Kinvara 5's so far. They are still pretty new, so I can't say much about the durability but so far, I have been able to run really well with these shoes. They are 'natural' running shoes but they do have a bit of cushioning. I bought the 9.5 instead of the usual size 9 that I buy and it fits my feet well. It took a few miles before my feet got adjusted to this show but since then, I have been able to run quite well. The forefoot did not 'pinch' like some of the other Saucony shoes have done for me. I really liked that this one was so lightweight and that it felt 'soft'. There are other Ssucony shoes I have worn that felt 'hard' everytime I ran wearing them. Overall I am really happy with this one.Just to add to my review after using these shoes for last four months - they have started to tear up a bit, especially on the inner side of the toe box on both the left and the right shoe. I can still run well in them but I am not sure these Kinvaras will be a long lasting one.Just to add to my review -I have been using these shoes for >9 months and they have reached that stage where I have to replace them. They have worn out and showing really bad tears in the upper .

Best Kinvara yet I believe

I have ran in Kinvara 3, 4, and now 5 and I have to say that this year's model may be the best one yet. I took them on a five mile run this afternoon and I just couldn't stop smiling. The comfort level is very high, and the cushioning rivals that of my Saucony Rides. The shoe feels very nimble and light weight, yet on the road it proved to be very stable and snug with no pressure points. When walking the shoe felt as if it was slipping at the heel, but once I started running that sensation went away. In the past I have used wide models, but this year Saucony does not deliver this shoe in wide so I took a chance and ordered it in the size I normally wear. I was very pleasantly surprised by the roomy toe box on the Kinvara 5. The Kinvara 4 model did not hold up very well, and basically wore out (with tears in the upper) after only 150 miles. If the new model holds up any better remains to be seen. For now, though, I could not be happier with this shoe.

Light but limited support- good race day shoe

Light. Limited support. Wear on sole was striking after first 15 mile run. A better race day shoe than training shoe if you are putting in the miles. I am a Saucony fan. I will stick with Saucony but likely keep to Ride for the trail work, Triumph ISO for the long road training and Zealot ISO (originals) for race day for a better mix of light weight, support, grip and wear. Worth the experiment. Just not right for me.

A great racing shoe!

I've run a marathon, couple half marathons and a few 10k/5ks in these and they are my go to shoe for road races. They are light weight with low heel to toe drop (4mm), good flexibility, and nice road feel. That said, I would probably not use them for anything longer than a half marathon. There is not a ton of cushioning built into these (part of the low weight design), and after 20miles I feel like you really begin to notice it. The only other knock I can put on these is the lack of durable rubber on the sole. There is some, but in an effort to keep the weight very low it's only in small patches (any of the colored rubber on the bottom is harder wear rubber, while the white is just foam for cushioning). This means they wear out pretty quick on the sole. Not a huge issue for me as I only wear them for races, but I would not recommend them as a daily trainer unless you like replacing your shoes after about 200miles. I'm a midfoot to forefoot striker so it is the front patches on my shoes that are wearing rather quickly while my heel looks relatively new. Not sure how this compares to previous or newer models, but that's my experience with this shoe.Overall, this is one of my favorite shoes. They fit well and have ample room up from for my toes to spread out and hold the foot nicely without much wiggle or slipping.

perfect running shoes.

These are perfect shoes for running. I had been using running shoes from the most marketed firms (you know those who spend millions on marketing) but was never comfortable for longer runs. A friend of mine recommended these to me and after going through the reviews, I placed an order with Amazon.they arrived as expected, and had a perfect fit. They are light, provide good arch support and are breathable. Even on longer runs, my feet were fine and did not get hot/sweaty like my previous running shoes. I have been using these shoes for the last 6 months and they are doing very well. I am just a casual runner and used to run around 6-10km twice a week, but after getting these I run daily. They are certainly worth it. give it a try.

Great running shoes

Great running shoes. I only go out approx. 20 miles a week. So my runs usually consist of a few 4 or 5 milers and one longer run of about 6-8 miles. These are comfortable, with a decent amount of cushioning. They're very light but provide a stable platform on which to land mid/forefoot. I have a med to high arch and I tend towards mild supination. I have 2 pair, one in my regular size and one in 1/2 size larger. I prefer the pair that is a 1/2 size larger, particularly when the temp rises and i'm on a longer run. For shorter runs, (5k, etc) my regular size is fine. But if I only had one pair - I'd want the 1/2 size larger. Overall great shoes.
