Super comfy all-around running shoe.
I’ve had these (triumph 20) a couple of weeks now, but I bough them to replace the previous year’s ones (triumph 19) that I’d put over 400 miles on.I typically do about 3-5 miles per run, and I run about 3-6 days per week. I’m not a fast runner, and these shoes are definitely not built for speed. They’re for comfort, and they excel at that.Very comfy soles, like running on pillows, but also stable. The upper is soft but breathable, which is very handy for me because I live in a very hot and humid city. I’ve worn this new pair outdoors and on the treadmill, in hot and wet weather, and they’re great. My last pair of Triumphs that I got rid of when I bought these, I used them to do my first four half marathons (all this year), and my personal best of 17 miles (still working up to a full marathon). But I did all those runs injury-free, and my newer pair of Triumphs seem like an even better shoe than the last ones.I know there is now a triumph 21, but I got these because they were on sale. They’ll probably last me a year easily. They’re true to size. I wear men’s 11. I also wear 11 in Nikes and Brooks, if that helps. Plenty of room for the toes, snug fit on the upper with no pinching from the laces, and no rubbing from the heels. If you run short or long distances, and injury-free comfort is what you’re looking for, these are great shoes (also maybe the Brooks Glycerin, but the Saucony’s fit my feet better).

Very good for training, long life, best running shoe I've had yet
I've worn the Saucony Omni's as trainers before, and Triumph 20 is a big step up. Cushioning is comfortable without being too pillow-y, good room in the toe box, and stays on my heels with no rubbing. Has been wonderful for 3-6 mile runs on pavement. Insoles are especially good, made of the same high performance foam as the rest of the sole, and can't tell much difference in feel at over 300 miles than from when I first got them. I'm getting another pair, just the same, to replace these as they've been my best trainers to date, going out 4 times a week in all kinds of weather. I'm a 6' 200lb runner, always on pavement, and my knees and ankles have never felt better than in these shoes.

Took some getting used to!
Background: I started running about 7 years ago as part of my weight-loss journey. I’m not a big runner and never have been, but I was consistently running three times a week for a handful of years — now running a little less. I have NEVER run more than 6 miles in any one session, and I’ve always had like $50 shoes without any care for cushioning or heel drop. I started watching several hours of reviews of different running shoes and splurged on these babies — Saucony Triumph 20.I’ve gotta say, it was quite a different experience running in these. I was NOT used to such a cushioned sole — very comfortable, but it also required me to change my running form ever so slightly. After the first couple runs of 3 miles each, I found a groove and could see a future with these although I wished I liked them more.I did have a blister after my first run due to the rub in the toe box. I don’t have wide feet at all, but my last shoes have had a little more room in the box. This just had less room. No issues after the first run though — fortunately. The quality seems pretty great overall. I love the look!Would I buy again? I’m not sure I would. I think I’d try something else as I haven’t loved these like I wanted to love them. I’m not sure the value was there for the money at the end of the day … for me and for how I run. Maybe if I was more of a distance runner, I’d notice the difference in my joints using these versus $50 shoes. As it stands though, I’m just feeling “meh” with these and wished I’d tried something else instead.

As close to perfect as any road shoe I have owned
As someone who considers himself a little bit of a shoe nerd, I can say that the Triumph 20 is as well-designed as any pair of shoes that have ever been on my feet. I wanted these to be my higher mileage shoes for slower, longer days, but after a few runs I can say that this shoe makes me keep running faster. I have never had to consciously slow myself down to keep a certain intensity as I have with these shoes. I think it has something to do with the heel to toe drop combined with the rocker shape and toe roll off that really propels me forward. The fit of the upper is perfectly snug. I am one of those runners who cannot stand having my heel slip up and down while I run. I won’t be able to stop thinking about it. BUT I also hate it when shoes are tight and restrictive around my toes. I wear a size 10, but truth be told I could probably be a size 10.5. My history wearing climbing shoes and boots makes me prefer a shoe that doesn’t have too much extra length. In these size 10’s, my toes are pretty close to the end of the shoe, but the toe area of the shoe is perfectly shaped and sized so the upper does not restrict my toes at all. PERFECT. Not too baggy so my feet stay where they are, but just the right amount of extra room so my toes are not touching the upper. The heel area and mid foot of the upper are snug and comfortable, while the toe area feels barely there. FINALLY a shoe company got it right. Let’s talk about the heel on this shoe. It’s bouncy. I’ve had other shoes with heels that are bouncy in a weird and hard-to-get-used-to way, and some shoes with a soft and squishy heel that does the opposite of the Triumph and makes me constantly have to speed up. This heel gets it just right. It gives you definite noticeable energy return after it squishes, but it doesn’t feel unstable. The heel isn’t one of the modern high stack shoes that gets super wide on the sole, which I like. The platform of these shoes seems like a slimmer profile compared to some of the newer generation of big midsole shoes, and I think this contributes to it feeling like a faster shoe. I love it. A few times in one of my night runs I accidentally stepped on some rocks and a stump, and for being a somewhat tall midsole, the shoe rode over the obstacles very gracefully. Some other taller shoes will definitely give me that immediate ankle roll in these situations (ahem, Hoka, ahem, sorry needed to clear my throat there). The look of the shoe is really cool. I have the Night Light color scheme and the pictures don’t do it justice. In the light the red is a fluorescent red and the Saucony symbol is reflective. It looks way cooler in person than in the pictures. These are my new favorite shoes. I was skeptical at first because of how good of a deal the 20’s were going for and also the 10mm heel-to-toe drop. I’d be lying if I said I don’t notice the drop, but the weird thing is I didn’t think I like it as much as I do. With the geometry of the shoe, the drop feels propulsive. I also feel like the cushion and feel of the forefoot is plenty cushioned as well. Get this shoe. I can’t imagine many people disliking it.
