Love!! Great cushioning, upper material, and classy color option!
A few years ago I got trail shoes to hike hard packed or rocky trails in Southern California (sometimes I run but end up more walking/hiking). I got about 10 different shoes to try of various brands and the Peregrines (version 2 at that time) were my favorites, supporting my foot in all the right places while still being a minimalist shoe. Years later I replaced my Peregrine 2 with Peregrine 8 which now developed some tears by the pinkie toe so need a new pair. Now I was looking for a bit more cushioning so ordered to try Peregrine 11 and Xodus 10 (which has same 4 mm drop but a bit more cushion and stability though heavier).Just received the Peregrine 11 (Xodus 10 coming tomorrow) and I love it!! Feels more cushioned than Peregrine 8, the upper looks slick and abrasion resistant. I also GREATLY appreciate the understated design of the gravel/black color - very CLASSY!Still will compare with the Xodus but between the great design and the improved cushioned feel, I am hoping to keep the new Peregrines. So excited, I had to leave a quick review with first impressions. The single thing I would improve is having some speed lacing system (I liked the one on the Salomon shoes I got but almost never wear because they are not as comfortable for longer hikes/runs).UPDATE, AFTER RECEIVING & COMPARING W/EXODUS 10:Got the Xodus 10 and they fit well. Bulkier but even cushier and more comfortable than the Peregrines. But colors on the Xodus too wild for my taste. Also found that Xodus 11 will be released on June 1st (talked to Saucony). So my thinking is keep the Peregrine 11 for fast/easy hikes and then get the Xodus 11 (in all black though I wish they were in more muted brown or grey to be unobtrusive and yet not show dust/dirt as easily) for longer hikes (replacing the Merrell Moab 2 boots which are made for hiking but never felt as comfortable as even my Peregrine 8).As a side note, what I find really amazing about the Saucony fit is how it applies supportive pressure in all the right places, like above the "root" of the toes - the toe box is wide enough to not have the toes feel constricted but the tighter height where the toes spring out from the main foot body prevents unwieldly wiggle. And just enough cushioning and responsiveness where I feel more comfortable in their trail running shoes than in dedicated hiking shoes from other well respected and reviewed brands. Well done and highly recommended.

Favorite trail runners
Husband has high arches and wide metatarsals and wears custom insoles. He loves these trail runners and is on his 3rd pair. For reference, we hike over 500 mi a year in mostly rocky and steep terrain. The peregrine 12, unfortunately, is very different, and he doesn't like them very much.

My least favorite of the Peregrine series but still a great maxi trail shoe
The Peregrine 11 is a step slower than the Peregrine 10 which used a softer rubber across the board in the outsole. The combination of the nobs and the stack gave the 10 a lot of energy return on trail and road. While the 11 is technically lighter, it doesn't feel like it on shorter runs. This feels more like a return to the original Peregrine or even Xodus lines in terms of heft and height. Saucony "fixed" this with the excellent Peregrine 12, which is somehow both a minimalist shoe and capable of providing plenty of cushion and bounce on longer runs. All in all I'd put the Peregrine 11 in the category of eventual yard shoe, and good for less technical trail running. Also note that if you want waterproof, you'll need to select the GTX gore-tex version of any Saucony shoe. While the standard Peregrine 11 is fine for keeping out dew and very small amounts of moisture it's nowhere near waterproof and could get sogged down in rain and stream crossing. As far as waterproof running shoes for the trail the Peregrine 12 GTX is wonderful.

Great hiking shoe!
I'm not a runner, but I use these shoes for hiking. I previously used hiking boots that were always really uncomfortable for me. These shoes are amazing. And beautiful too. Not quite as beautiful of colors once they get muddy but it's made up for by the satisfaction of being reminded of a good hike. Compared to the hiking boots that I've worn in the past, it feels less supportive but equally or more grippy and much more agile. I can feel the ground underneath me and respond to the terrain accordingly, and I can fit my toe into tight spaces for scrambling type maneuvers. That can be a bit uncomfortable on rocky terrain, but you get used to it after a while. This shoe is good even for very challenging terrain. I used it on Breakneck Ridge and other trails in the Hudson Highlands, among other hikes. As for durability, it's held up fine so far after 6 months and a few hikes, but I usually only do a few hikes per year, so it's hard to say how it would hold up for someone who goes hiking every week. I don't usually use it for daily wear as it's not quite as comfortable for that use, though I would consider it for a long day of urban or metropark walking.Note that Saucony runs a bit snug, I usually wear a 9.5 but in this case a 10 fits just right. I knew to order a 10 because I have some other Saucony shoes in the same size.

Extremely durable for backpacking
**I have a flat and narrow foot**This is the most durable and well-made shoe I have ever hiked in. My previous pair lasted just over 800 miles (400 of which came on the AT). I replaced them with the exact same pair to continue my AT hike and just over 100 miles in, they are holding up very well as expected. The traction/tread is fantastic. The fit is on the tighter side, especially around the heels, but I’m ok with it because the shoe lasts so long. I also really like the drain holes in the bottom of the shoe that assist in shedding water, especially when fording creeks or walking in mud. I plan to exclusively hike the rest of the AT in these shoes.

Poor color choice; otherwise fantastic!
Excellent price, but a questionable color :) I like the color, but shows dirt and scuffs so easily. Saucony is the only shoe I wear due to high arches and pronation. Prevents plantar fasciitis for me. Very comfortable, which is why I continue to purchase.

Great workout shoe
The shoe is true to size, extremely comfortable, perfect for the gym. I had never purchased this brand prior, but researched what would be a proper gym shoe. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. Would highly recommend. I will definitely consider another pair in the future. Most importantly is the shoe quality!
