Excellent shoe! Saucony customer for life!
I love my Saucony Peregrines! This is my second pair and I am finding it hard to break away from them. The sole is perfect for the trail, adding a type of grip most brands can only come close to. My first pair was purchased at a local store and I finally wore them out after 10 years!!! I love Peregrines because they grip in most weather conditions. I’ve been on iced up trails in the spring, muddy conditions, and rocky terrain. In my opinion, one of the best and most versatile sport shoes on the market. Fit is great and true to size. Value for money - if I could keep my last pair for a decade, I think I got my money’s worth. My only negative comment is that the inner heel wears out rather quickly, but that could just be the shape of my foot and ankle. Even with that last caveat, I’ll continue to buy Saucony Peregrines.

Updated 6/12/24 My favorite hiking shoe
Update- photo taken on 6/12/24 so they’re just over 2 yrs old in this photo. Was ecstatic to find they’re still available and ordering another pair. For reference I hike 3-6 x a week depending on the season. These shoes are excellent for SoCal hiking Spring-Fall when our dirt is dry as a bone and slipping happens too easily- these shoes have the best grip of any others I’ve used. They have remained super comfortable and are very durable! I could keep hiking in these for another year I’m sure but it’s getting too hard to keep them clean. So I’m getting them in the black shade. Absolutely love these. I’m between 8.5-9 and based on reviews decided on the size 9. It’s always dicey for me buying shoes online because depending on the brand I never know which size to go with. They fit well w/ a little extra room but not to an uncomfortable degree. I have slightly wide feet and these are a very comfortable width for me (I did not order the wide version). They’re gorgeous to boot and seem to be a very good quality. Happy customer. If I ever see them on sale I’ll buy another pair to stow away until the day these get too worn, although I expect that’ll be a long time from now.

Great for trail walks and exploring the Big 5 National Parks in Utah.
I loved how these had great traction walking on rocks and gravel trails. I don't go on long, difficult hikes anymore, so these gave just enough support without the weight and discomfort of heavy hiking boots. Also like that they are supposed to be great for rainy days, but we didn't test that out as we went during a heatwave instead.I have C width feet and always liked the roomy toe box and snug heels of regular width Saucony when I was a long distance runner. These were the same great fit and didn't need any time to break in.Plus this color hid the trail dust, too.

Great shoe
Good stability, comfortable, and the right arch support for my needs. All this and the value for the price was spot on for me. The size is exactly as expected. Love the color too.

Great looking and probably excellent for someone who wants a stiff sole and/or a wider shoe
I actually only kept these because I loved the look. For some reason, maybe it's worldwide madness, I am feeling very black and white lately. Just want nothing but checkerboards and screw the grey area! Also, with the peaking pink sole, I realized that these looked like my dog's face when he smiles at me.As for functionality, eh. I have very narrow feet with a high arch. I trail run everyday. I have flexy feet and joints and like a lot of ground feel. I can't stand stiff soled shoes. These shoes were pretty stiff. They also were quite wide on my feet. I don't know that they would do for me on the trail, but I wear them off to show off my complete and total lack of appreciation for nuance in our present day. Black and white (and bubble gum pink to throw off the squares), BABY!

the only hiking shoes I wear
I am now on my fourth pair of these. I hike about 20-30 miles a week and prefer using low top trail runners. I've tried different brands and styles, and these have worked best for me. They have great traction and support. I wear an 8.5-9.0 and have learned I must buy these in a 9.5. Definitely size up a half size. I tried a 9.0 and ended up with bunions (which I have never had before) within a day or two of use. They are comfortable and generally hold up well, but I replace mine about every 6 months because I put so many miles on them. The part that wears out first for me is the inside of the shoe on the heel, near the top. I will definitely buy these again. The peregrine 10 and 11 have both been great and it's always nice when you can find a good deal on them!
