The huaraches transported me to my childhood. At first, I was concerned because the sandal felt tight. However, after 20 minutes or so, the leather started to mold to my feet. Super comfortable and the quality is great.
You will want to size down if you are between sizes. I ordered a 8 being a 7 1/2 and they were way too big. Size 7 fits great and I didn’t have to loosen them up.
Some imperfection in the stitching around the base of the sandal. I’m pretty sure this will not go well after wearing it for a while… but I need something now. Also, these sandals don’t last more than a year to 2 years if you wear them frequently. The leather lasts a long time, it’s the base of the sandal that doesn’t hold up forever. I size down, because the leather stretches out. It takes time for it to be broken in and to stretch. I wear it indoors for little while, wear them for 1-2 hours a day to break it in. Eventually fits like a glove. This product doubles in price in summer so I figure whatever I will keep it even though it has the flaw.
Shipping and delivery were great! Got them fast but only after one day of wear the soles are misaligned. Obviously not stitched to the leather upper. Cheap glue didn’t hold it together. Also beware of sizing. One shoe was very loose.
For the most part, these shoes were nice. The leather portion was great however, the sole was not real leather and cheapen the shoes. I purchased a size 9 as I’m an 8 1/2 and it worked for me, but again the sole being a different color And not real leather didn’t work so I ended up returning these shoes.
I honestly forgot how comfortable huaraches are and now that I have remembered, I ordered a few pairs in different colors. And I treated myself to this extra pair with open toes. They are just as comfortable, a bit dressier and the open toe allows my wild colors of toenail polish to be seen. As is usual with huaraches, there is a strong leather and dye smell when they arrived but I always let them air out for a few weeks and they are fine. I honestly don't mind the smell ( my husband worked in a tannery before we were married) but I know some people do. Shipping was fast. I ordered a half size down from my normal sandal size which is a half size smaller than my normal shoe size- so a full size smaller- and they fit fine. I have a wide foot due to arthritis and the stretchiness of the leather is wonderful- no painful "break-in" period. I had a pair of huaraches that I bought when I was in college in the 1970's that I had to donate 45 years later because my feet were too wide for them! Hopefully these will last as long.
My favorite sandals! I wear them all the time! It took me one wear to break them in and they are the most comfortable shoe I have!
