I purchased these boots 2 weeks before climbing Mt Adams in Washington. I am 5'7" and weigh 130lbs. To break them in, I wore them for a 17 mile overnight backpacking trip in TN with highs around 97F carrying a 50lb pack (yes, almost 1/2 my body weight). The reason for the positive review is that I did not get a single blister, despite the heat and brand new boots, and my feet more dryer than my hiking buddies with their summer hiking shoes (from sweat). Found out they were 1/2 size too large during this trip, and exchanged for the correct size. I took bad advice from someone and ordered 1/2 size too large to account for thick socks. Do not do that. These boots have a slightly wider than average toe box in my opinion, which was great for me. I don't like a cramped pinky toe, especially in cold.After receiving the correct size (a 41 for me) I climbed Adams. I reached the summit without a single blister with never-worn boots! (Yes, I know this was a bad idea) I would absolutely never recommend that anyone go on a long trek without breaking in their shoes first, but I was absolutely amazed how comfortable these were first time out. I thought I was dooming myself for sure by procrastinating on ordering them.The good:Mt adams is almost 14k feet, glacier capped. My feet never got cold. Lowes were in the 20's and highes in the 40's to 50's near the top, so not overly cold weather.I used black diamond cramp-ons, they interfaced flawlessly with these boots and the boots were plenty stiff. 0 issues.Laces are designed very well. the laces below the black tounge strap (see picture, i'm talking about the toe area here) on mine i could tighten, and they would hold their setting even with above laces untied, while the laces above the black tounge strap would loosen when the laces were untied, making it relatively easy to take the boots off. This made keeping the tightness of the laces near your toes consistant, since they don't need to change much.Leather and stiching appears to be good quality. The black rubber around the toe defenitely helped keep the leather dryer and more protected.My feet stayed very dry in 3 days of snow and snow melt. I walked through 2-5" deep water up to the laces without fear.The bad:They do have a stiff sole, which is of course what they were designed for. This means long trips on dry ground give you a little bit of the "walking in ski boots" feel. Remember though, mine were NOT broken in when i used them, which will have an impact. I do not really consider this a down side. The stiff soles defenitely made climbing in the snow better.Overall:I can't wait to wear them again, in the snow specifically.

Very impressive boot, go half a size up
I'm a size 10 1/2 and ended up with a size 11 to accommodate a big sock and a second smaller sock. I wore these on a march trip to Mount Washington in NH, it was a very cold day -35 around Pinkman Notch to -65 around the summit according to the weather reports. These boots went to work right away the moment we got out of the car.For Mount Washington I used a 10 1/2 size boot and one large sock, for most of the hike my toes were cold. I never got the sense that they were cold and in danger, but they were cold and it was noticeable. I ended up returning the size 10 /1/2 and went to an 11 to accommodate two socks instead of one. That being said I was still impressed at how comfortable they were during the climb, they were put to work against the cold immediately before even setting off on the trail. They are slightly heavy and have a bit of ski boot feel to them, but the approach on snow was quite comfortable. We turned back at treeline on this day, as it was getting quite cold and very very windy but I intend to go back with the size 11 and try again.

Beautiful Boot
The Mont Blanc is a high quality mountaineering boot. Unfortunately the 42 (the size I wear in most shoes) is too small. I was aware the these fit differently then other types of footwear. Because there is no flex in the sole and one must kick steps into snow or ice for climbing, the fit is super important. I felt my toes were too close to the front as they touched when I kicked. The next half size up caused my heal to lift too much. Not the boots fault! I am pretty bummed. These are sweet boots, great build quality. I have a few other pairs of Scarpa footwear and they are all awesome. People with slightly wider feet will like this boot, it fits a little more generously then the Nepal Evo. Thanks to Amazon you can try them on and send them back, no problem. Anyone looking for a warm leather boot for epic alpine assaults should this give this boot a try.

Spectacular boots! Love them! I have a sz 9 foot and had to send some back and order a half sz larger. Fit great after that. I wish the toe box was a little wider though. I’m a lineman so these boots will be subjected to a lot of things they weren’t meant for. So I'll revise my review later if need be. One of the most comfortable and supportive boots that I’ve ever put on. Love them so far! A+

Amazon deserves the 5 stars for enabling remote shoe shopping. Unfortunately, I could not make the Scarpa fit me (12 was too small and 13 too large/wide), but thanks to Amazon, I was able to try these on and return them without any hassle and with very quick delivery.
