Excellent approach shoes.
Any time you need a hiking shoe, not a boot, with a thicker and more sturdy sole, these are your answer. Scarpa is a known and respected premium brand. Comfortable, despite the thicker, more durable soles (versus hiking shoes or trail running shoes). Great traction. Mid-width. Fits per their size chart. Expensive, but still good value for money if you intend to get out there and use them. Great choice for rocky terrain not requiring any climbing over boulders.

I wear out two pair of good name walking shoes per year. Scarpas last longer than the two put together. I am sure that it is the durable vibram soles! These shoes are great find for me.

Recently purchased my 6th pair of Scarpa's.
I swear by these shoes. I just purchased my 6th pair. 3 pair of Zen Pro's, which I wear daily. I've gotten a couple of years out of each pair. My most recent purchase is the Rapid XT which will replace the Zen Pros. I've also purchased 1 pair of Mojito's, and a pair of Mescalito's that I use for casual wear.
