Good hiking shoes AND climbing shoes
I'm a climber, and I really wanted something that I could use on difficult approaches. These shoes are more than just approach shoes though! I have taken them to the gym, and was able to climb intermediate routes with them. They edge really well actually! It is a bit like climbing in clown shoes, but they do work better than sneakers. I recently had an experience at a crag where I couldn't find my climbing shoes and rather than staying on the ground and missing the climb, I decided to climb with these shoes. Everyone was astonished when I sent the route, and I converted a few friends that day.I usually wear 9.5 or 10 women narrow, and I bought the size 10 crux. They have some room in the toe, which I think makes them the perfect hiking shoe. The rubber is really good! The construction seems high quality. These shoes are super comfortable for hiking in to the climb, and standing around all day. And they are pretty.

Narrow toe box
Very narrow toe box. When I bought a pair of Dr. Scholl's insoles I had to cut down the width of the insoles significantly to fit them into these shoes. I wear a C width in women's shoes and my feet have bled and blistered in these way too often to be just a "breaking in period". Now I know why. Scarpa needs to make a wider version of these shoes. If you read the reviews for the men's version of these shoes, you'll see that it's filled with praise and satisfied customers. It's as if Scarpa's staff didn't even bother to find out what women's feet are shaped like. The insole I pulled out looks like it came from a pair of high heels!

Two different sizes.
I would've loved to keep these because they're cute and seem to be well made. I received two different size shoes (off by 1/2 size) and the left one had multiple scuffs and was tied differently than the other. I'm not sure if I received someone else's partial return or what. Quality control needs to be better and now my refund is delayed.

It was a perfect fit for me, but If you have wide feet, be aware that the front is a little narrow and you are left with little room for your toes,so you might want to go up half a size.It does get a little hot if the temperature goes above 80, but that's to be expected.Overall these are very comfortable walking shoes with good support, and they seem durable.

High quality hiking shoes
This shoes are very comfortable. I've worn Scarpa Ascent boots for years, and I found that these shoes fit slightly looser than those. Nonetheless, these shoes are great quality. I expect them to hold up for a long time. I bought them because I had been dealing with plantar fasciitis and wanted something comfortable other than my running shoes to wear during the day; my feet feel so much better! I might order a size 36.5 next time instead of my normal 37 for my size 5.5-6 feet, but I will definitely continue wearing these shoes daily until they wear out (based on my past experiences with Scarpa products, I know that could be 4-5 years.) My dad and fiancée have both worn these shoes for long approach mountain climbs in Montana. I normally use my high-ankle Ascent boots for that, but I intend to test these out on some climbs this summer since they are so comfortable for hiking and walking.
