Barefoot in the Park - Not Sure Yet
I wanted to love these walking shoes, but as of now I am on the fence. They come packaged in plastic without a box which is fine. upon opening them, I could see the toe imprints. I’ve never had a pair of “toe shoes” before, so this is a new experience. There us a velcro closure on the side, but I did not need to open this up to put on the shoes. I was able to slip my feet in easily. I started walking around to get the feel of the shoe, and honestly I was not super impressed. I feel like there is no real support in the sole of the shoe. I know they are made similar to “bearfoot” sneakers, but I’m not familiar with how those are supposed to feel on the feet. These are supposed to be walking shoes, but I don’t feel assured that after several miles or minutes of walking on pavement, my feet wont hurt or feel fatigued. Of note, I have only used them around the house thus far, as there is snow on the ground and I would not use them in the snow. I’m going to continue to wear them aound the house and I will update this review based on how they treat my feet. They are definitely made for a wider foot. Although I do not have a wide toe box, I do have flat feet, so I ordered them thinking that they would accomodate my lack of a standing arch. For me and for now, I am neither here nor there on the excellence or mediocrity of this shoe, so I am giving 3 stars explained below. My Stars Explained5 - Like finding money in your old coat pocket - pure joy!4 - Almost perfect - like a pizza with just one missing topping.3 - Like a movie that’s just okay—neither a blockbuster nor a total flop2 - Like a blind date that went horribly wrong - cringeworthy.1 - Like stepping on a Lego in the dark - painful.
