The shoes that saved my life
Let me set the scene- it’s wedding season. People are poppin’ the question like there’s no tomorrow and you are bound to know at least some of those people. Thus dysfunctional families gather and must inexplicably survive the night. In preparation to the madness I seek out the perfect pair of faux leather Oxford heels, because I’m a vintage style nerd and there’s nothing like a new pair of heels to empower a lady to face her family. These shoes (as well as my endlessly supportive husband of course) were the reason I survived.I don’t know why others are saying it runs big, I’d say it runs small. I’m size 8.5 in reg. casual shoes but always 7.5 for dress shoes. 7.5 killed my feet like none other by squishing my toes but exchanging for half a size up at 8 was loose. Was perfect for adding foam inserts and then they fit like a glove and were the comfiest heels I’ve ever had the privilege to wear. I recommend sizing up and using those cut-to-size $2 foam inserts you can find at lots of stores.Am I a superhuman when I wear these? Why yes, yes I am. Without forewarning, the last wedding turned out to be outside. These heels got me through a night on chunky grass terrain, walking up three flights of stairs to find the bathroom, family interrogations, and even the unfortunate occurrence of witnessing the groom grind with his best man out on the dance floor. These shoes got me through it all baby.I got the brown pair and they're just as pictured. I like to wear them with neutral ruffle socks and they're so adorable and vintage looking I'm obsessed. The laces are cute and didn't come untied or loose once. The heel is thick and easy to walk in. They class up any outfit like nobody's business and will hopefully help you through wedding season like they have me.
