Really nice shoe, but no size 13 - UPDATED
Update: As hard as I tried, I couldn't find a similar shoe that fit me better than these so got them. They are durable, stuff enough for recreational mountain biking, gravel, and road riding, and way more comfortable than the race level shoes I had worn for years.-------Original review:I wanted a more casual MTB, road, and gravel shoe. The shoes are well made with quality materials, are very comfortable, and are convenient to take on and off. They seemed stiff enough when compared to my XC-oriented shoes.Shimano's size 48 is listed as 12.5. This shoe fits true to size, but I need a size 13. The overall length is long enough, and I could use them, but my forefoot and arch ended up too far forward in the shoe.I don't have wide feet (13 A in dress shoes), but my forefoot leaks over the edge of the footbed when I use shoes that are too small. This creates and hot spot on the outside metatarsal. It's worse when riding MTB where you are standing a lot, but I also notice this when pedaling out of the sale on my road bike. It's not that the shoe is too narrow. It's just the wrong size for my foot. (Many "too-narrow" complaints come from people who don't fully understand how to match the shape of their foot with the shape of the shoe.)I didn't give the shoe 5 stars because I didn't ride in them, and I can't say how durable they are. My experience with Shimano shoes is that they are some of the best-made shoes in the industry. I wish they offered more models in a 49.
