Just received these today. I wear a size 13 in most shoes and this fit with a little extra room but not too much. Was outside for a while in 25 degrees and feet stayed warm and dry. Like the feel and fit.
These boots fit vary well. Nice and high keeping the snow out. Feet are dry.
This is the first pair of this type of boot that I have owned, so I can't really compare them to any other brands. That said, the boots are well constructed and are very comfortable. I have been using them anytime I go out into our backyard, it's the rainy season in the Northwest so everything is always pretty wet. I love the fact that they slip on and off very easily but are secure when they are fully on. The boots have been totally waterproof, we have a small pond and wading around in that my feet have remained dry. The only problem I have with them is that they run a little large, I am a pretty true size 10 (that's also the size I ordered) and I have to wear the absolute thickest pair of wool socks I own or I have to add an extra pair of regular thickness socks. Once that is done everything settles in nicely and my feet don't slide around inside the boots at all. Given that, I don't think these would be great in the warmer months as I think all that sock material would be pretty hot, but in colder weather these are really good. It would be great if these were available in half sizes instead of just full sizes, if that were the case you could order a half size down and I think they would be perfect. All things considered I think these are a good choice, but due to the sizing issue I feel I have to drop a star.
You could pay a liitle less, and not get ANYWHERE near the quality of these boots. Or you could pay more. But why?
I've been needing some knee high muck boots and am glad I found these. They can handle a little snow, the odd 12" deep puddle or mud hole, or a full day of standing around in a downpour with rain gear on.They aren't a hiking boot for a lot of reasons. The soft rubber will wear out if subjected to miles of gravel or rocky terrain. Same goes for asphalt, I suppose. There's nothing rigid underfoot, just eubber, so there's not much protection from sharp objects or jagged rock.The fit is dead on for me. I wear a 9 in pretty much everything, but have skinny feet and a lot of rubber boots are sloppy on my feet in size 9. These fit perfect. There is enough room for thick, wool socks but not so much that I'll curse myself for wearing them with thinner socks. They have a removable insole that's very nice, though I might replace mine with my high arch support inserts. If I do I'll still find a use for the Showave inserts.I'm real happy with them. The last muck boots I purchased were some Bogs. Even in the discount rack at a millitary surplus store, over 10 years ago, they cost $100. They were OK but heavier than these, sized bigger and sloppier than these, and they gave me blisters where they creased across my achilles. I honestly like these boots better by a fair amount. My dog ate about half of one of the Bogs about 8 years ago. If he repeats that with these I'll update the review with his critique of the taste, texture, presentation, etc.
This is a very nice insulated waterproof boot that also looks good in person. It appears to be well-made, and has a nice calf length. However, I must point out that it has a tight fit around my foot for a size 11 compared to other boots I own. I suspect this was an intentional design choice in order to make sure the boot does not slip around when a person is walking. My recommendation is to order a half size up, if possible, so that you have a little bit more room especially if you want to wear thick socks. Overall though, they are comfortable to wear throughout the day, and have an interesting tread pattern that I can't wait to test on some ice😄
