Good for high instep because of loose tongue with extra elastic stretch. Great for wide feet too. Most comfortable, long lasting sneaker. I've had a pair for 5+ years that still look and feel great. The only issue is the tread is worn off under the foot pad causing them to be slippery now on wet floors. Thought I would replace them before I blow out a knee. They wash up nice in a washing machine with a towel and cleans the gray plastic base back to new. I wear them without extra arch protection without issues.

Light as a feather, very comfortable and they fit like a glove
For the last several years I have been getting dragged down by those heavy overly-engineered shoes that promise... well, I've heard it all. And I've worn them all too. What happens first? The fabric inside the heal shreds, the stitching pops, the lining on the cushion begins to come loose, and the fact you spent way too much money on a shoe that you have to replace in four to six months drags you down even further. I found a shoe by Sketchers, the Hartnell, which I bought on a whim, is one of the best sneakers I've owned in years. It's light weight, well made, and they fit like a glove. I like the minimalist design and the soft heal which makes it so easy to slip-on as you head out the door to do whatever you wish. Its a nice casual shoe.

Great show around the house
This is my second pair of the same Skecher product. I find them very comfortable and light. I don't require much in the way of arch support so I feel that they are adequate for my needs. I have BIG feet (size 14) and somewhat narrow. It is great that Skechers produces shoes in that size as some other brands...Nike, Under Armor, etc. don't seem to. The styles are fashionable but discreet...a big deal when you don't want to showcase your big feet. Love the easy on/off laces when I am in a hurry to get out the door with the dog. The soles are very soft and pliable and the sole tread pattern is easy to clean after being outside in the yard. The only issue is that the soles are very soft rubber (which provide great cushion) but will wear quickly if you get out on asphalt or concrete to walk. I am murder on shoes as I put a great deal of impact on my heels and I burn heels off of all my shoes. I notice this applies to my Skechers in particular as the compound of the rubber does not wear well when you walk on rough surfaces. That said, that is why I prefer them for indoor wear and not for fast paced walking. I believe they make a fine shoe for my purposes.

I have been wearing this exact shoe for about 8 years. I have never found a more comfortable shoe. I wear them to the office and have taken them on hiking adventures and have never had any issues other than needing to buy a replacement every couple of 1 to 2 years due to everyday wear.(My wife will sometimes actually wear as slippers because they are easy to slip on and off and she likes how comfortable they are)
