Great fit and feel and like the color. Breaks in very easy. They don't gap on the side.
My daughter wears size 2 street size, so I figured 2.5 would be perfect. Unfortunately, she doesn't have any room, but I'm hoping she'll be able to stretch them out a bit with wear to get through the rest of Nutcracker rehearsal season and into early next year. Wished I had ordered a full size up, but don't have time to exchange. Also, she noticed one of the shoes has more of a crease in the sole when she points, and it appears to be because of the way it was glued. This makes it harder to get a clean silhouette (cause a weird bulge), but she'll only be using these for dance class, not a performance.
Runs small, order up 2 sizes!
I'm a ballet beginner but really enjoy those shoes. Very comfy and cute!
This is the fourth canvas ballet slipper I have worn in the six years I have returned to ballet as an older adult (coming back after 25 years away). So far it is also the best one yet! I love the soles on these shoes. I wanted to love my Capezio Hanami's as they hugged my feet and were very soft and stretchy with no gaps or wrinkles. But the soles on that slipper were too cupped and thick, throwing off my balance and gait. This slipper solves that problem. While the soles are still on the thicker side, they are flatter, not curved, and do not inhibit my balance and gait. The soles are also wider and larger than the typical tear drop shapes on many ballet slippers, providing more support and ability to balance without rolling the foot. This shoe is very well made, not quite as soft as Capezio Hanamis, but still hug my foot and fit well without a lot of gaping or wrinkles. The heel is perfect, not too low or high on the back of my foot. The sides of this shoe do come up slightly higher than I am used to or like, but it's really too subtle to be a big deal. My feet are my strength about my body and my high instep and arches overcome this extra shoe material. I love that the elastic crisscross straps on this shoe are wide and supportive without being overly tight as my Hanamis and Russian Pointe Vivantes were. They are on the soft side but provide enough pull. The inside of this shoe feels very comfortable and minimal with no irritating materials rubbing on my foot. The elastic around this shoe hugs the foot nicely and provides a nice secure fit. This shoe works very well for my wide foot type that tapers severely to the heel (I have a fan shaped foot with Egyptian tapered toes). I wear a size 7 and I fit snugly and well in a size 5.5 C in these. I tried a size 6 C and it left too much material in the toe area. I am glad I didn't go down to a size 5 as that would have been too small. The 5.5 is perfect for me! I also ordered these in a nude color for something different (I don't perform on stage anymore I just do dance improvisation and barre work or an occasional ballet class with my slippers) and I like the color. I will admit I ordered these slippers from another store, not Amazon.com as they are constantly out of stock in my size and the long wait gets old. I had to wait almost a month for the size 6, only to find out they were too big and they did not have a 5.5 in stock. So I gave up and found another store online that had them. I am just amazed at how much better my balance and my turns are in these compared to my previous shoes. These shoes do not feel tight or overly restrictive and they cater to my wide feet very well for an overall great fit! I really don't see how any other shoe can improve on what this shoe offers for me, other than the same features with slightly lower profile on the side of the shoe? I will definitely stay with these for a while!
