Impressed despite the new Sorel hate.
I saw a lot of hate on Sorel in regards to the line going downhill after Columbia bought them, but I'm happy with the boots for what I spent (not full price). The leather feels greatand is soft and pliable. They feel solid but won't last 20 years like some people expect or Sorel. These are definitely fashion boots but would still keep your feet warm in a southern state during the winter. I don't live where it gets below 0 often so I think they'll do the job. Another review warned of the color and it actually spurred me to buy them since they come darker than the picture suggests. I wear 12 and the size 12 is roomy enough for some thick socks so in my experience they don't run small. Beautiful boots, looking forward to wearing them all winter.

Quiet boots.
So far so good. Little hot spots by heal and ankle (stiff leather reinforced in those areas) but added extra insole and did the trick. Wearing for a few days now and the leather is softening up well. Sole is super soft and comfortable plus feels durable - hitting a good sweet spot. Also noticeably quiet when walking and not clunky at all. Reasonable light also.
