Gorgeous boot, comfortable and true to size

Sorel makes a great boot, but I’m more used to the rubberized style they make. Then I saw these and ordered them based on their high-quality reputation and I’m not at all disappointed.They look beautiful in person and the “Velvet Tan” color is a very nice, tawny leather with matching sole and laces making it look very smooth. They are very comfortable and while they look stiff, they don’t feel that way but they are stiff enough to hold their shape and not buckle and wrinkle. (Which is great.) They also aren't overly heavy. (They're almost lightweight.)The laces are a nice touch and they sit flat. The bottom is grippy and has great, high tread to handle a little water or slush. As far as it being waterproof, I wouldn’t walk through a puddle, but it does hold up well to splashes of water without staining. The leather can scratch, though, as would any leather. So regular care is necessary. The top ends of the boot are “pre-weathered” for character and to give a slightly worn look too.I normally order 11 (for just a little room for good socks) and did the same here with excellent results. Plenty of toe space and room for warm socks without having your foot slide around.Overall a fantastic boot for all seasons.
