This is a very heavy duty boot with a very tight fitting ankle opening. I could not get it on at all. It is more than I would need for a rain boot anyway - very stiff and durable - maybe a cool boot for a horse person??
I’m usually a 6, occasionally a 6.5 in shoes and have a very narrow foot. I ordered a 6.5 so I could wear them with warm socks, and It was painfully tight even with thin socks on. I ended up missing the return window but would have returned if I had remembered. A bummer because they were very cute and seem high quality.
I just returned from a 2-week vacation in Japan and due to the cold weather and a little rain/snow, I wound up wearing these boots for almost the entirety of the trip. They're warm, easy to walk in, and durable. I rarely write reviews but I needed to share that these are SO COMFORTABLE. I walked 15-25k steps/day (about 6 miles every day) and while my feet would of course be tired at the end of the day, they didn't hurt like they normally would after that much walking. I was so pleasantly surprised! For context, I have some joint pain from medication I take which makes my knees and ankles achy, and I also suffer from plantar fascitis so I typically put insoles in my shoes but forgot them at home. I was so shocked to realize that I didn't need them with these boots and that my achy joints weren't suffering more from all the walking. I honestly can't recommend them enough and may buy another pair as a back up.I have the natural color and they really go with everything: skinny jeans, wide leg pants, skirts, leggings, etc. And I get a ton of compliments on them as well. I'm very happy with this purchase and I feel like I've already gotten my money's worth 10x over. They do run small like other reviews suggest, I typically wear an 8.5-9 and I ordered a 9.5. They fit perfectly.
I loved the look of these boots and the material felt very durable but I had to return them due to the fit. All my shoes are size 8.5 (regular not wide fit). I ordered these in an 8.5 but it was very difficult to fit my foot inside the shoe. I thought, maybe they could be stretched out after a few days of wearing, but as soon as I put my foot all the way in I couldn't endure how painful they were. I was unable to stand in them let alone walk. I almost didn't write this review because I loved the look of them and they seem extremely durable. There is definitely a sizing issue. I was never in this much foot pain when ordering my correct size. It fit like I was wearing a 7.5. If I decide to take another chance on these I will update my review. I have womens Timberland Mt. Maddsen hiking boots and these Sorels are significantly heavier than those, but they are more light weight than a set of Columia boots I have. I got these to be easy slip on hiking boots. they look durable enough, they're very comfortable and I think they're going to be great to walk in. They are true to size. Will update after I hit a trail.
i love the the way these boots look. But that it is all!! Very very narrow, you can hardly slip your feet inside of boots. And they are sooo hard - very painful. I am not going to get bigger size because the these are so hard that i can't imagine to go through this pain again. What is going on? Sorel were the most comfortable shoes - i have the whole summer and sneakers collection form the past. So dissapointed!
Sorel is a brand I have always respected since buying a pair of Sorel snow boots in Vermont in 1988 as I was an artist-in-residence from Seattle at the Vermont Studio Center. Since those boots lasted me a dozen or more years I have admired Sorel but never much considered them closely enough to buy. Fast forward to 5 years ago when I tried again and found myself between sizes.A few days ago I found this boot and decided to buy 3 sizes certain at least one of these sizes would be perfect. Wrong. The sizing seems to have changed again with even the 11 way too small.On top of all that sizing issue these boots are tacky and poorly made. In person, they are no where near as stylish as they seem in the photos. Furthermore, the 11 which seemed that it might almost fit with thin socks came to me today used. Yes, the seller said "new" but sold me USED.
