BEST sandal for lots of walking!
I have put these sandals through thousands of miles of walking and cannot say enough good things about the Sorel Ella III sandals! I bought these at REI back in 2018 on a whim just a couple days before leaving for Europe for 4 months (meaning no time to break them in), where I walked an average of 10 miles a day, and sometimes up to 22 miles in a day. That trip alone put at least 1,200 miles on them. These sandals were comfortable from the very first day and made the other pairs of shoes I had packed completely unnecessary. I wore these EVERY day and they worked in every occasion. Hiking dirt paths, walking cobblestone streets, crawling over rocks, nice dinners out, dancing, biking, beach, travel... these looked and felt great for every occasion. They are comfortable all day long and somehow miraculously look just as good with my nicer outfits as they do with my casual/workout clothes. I usually have issues with sandals that have ankle straps being uncomfortable and rubbing my ankle raw, but that has never happened and the ankle straps created such a secure feeling. My first pair lasted me 6 years with HEAVY use and to be honest they still look great, they just finally stretched out barely enough to make me want a fresh pair. I'm also paranoid that they are going to discontinue these because they aren't on their website anymore and the price on Amazon is nearly half of what it was, so it was time to snag a new pair! If you're on the fence, just get them. They are seriously the best.
