The soles are a treaded style of rubber and the cross straps are real leather. You can slightly adjust the top strap at the buckle detail if needed. The back closure is Velcro- easy on and easy to take off for a perfect fit.

Pros and cons

These are good quality and I like the variance of texture in the shoe. Unfortunately they just looked too clunky on my feet so I returned them. I have a number of other Sorel sandals and slides and love them all. These were extremely comfortable when I tried them on but the thickness of the straps combined with the thickness of my own ankles made them unflattering on me. Wish the straps and styling were just a tad more feminine.
