Best snow boots out there!

Sorels always are worth it! These are well made, warm, easy to clean, and keep your feet dry! The last time I bought Sorel boots was 30 years ago, BECAUSE THEY LASTED THAT LONG! It was only being stored in a shed in Phoenix summer heat that finally cracked the rubber and necessitated my bying a new pair. These are even cuter than my first pair, and though they are a little heavy (as with all worthwhile snow boots), they hold up in the weather. They fit true to size, but if you like a little space, order up half a size. The laces help adjust so a little bit big never hurts.

Warm Feet Perfection

Comfortable, Stylish, WarmRead the reviews and ordered a half size larger. Even with thick socks on they were too big. Returned and ordered my true size. With thick socks on, perfect fit.Planning on ordering another pain but different color.

Best boots ever!

I LOVE these boots so much I purchased them in two different colors. I got the fawn from Dick’s Sporting Goods because I found them for much less elsewhere and Dick’s beat the price I found them for so I got them for $130 an awesome price. Unfortunately, the Quarry/black was sold out so I purchased them from Amazon. I was worried at first because of some of the reviews. But I believe that the ones I got from Amazon are not knock offs just have some slight imperfections. Its unfortunate how the straps/snaps have broken off of some reviewers boots I’m not sure if they were pulling them on by the straps or if they just got a defective pair. Also, the linings can be purchased from the Sorel website and can be easily replaced. I mean these boots are regularly priced at $199 and up so if you get for less from 3rd party on Amazon, you should expect some imperfections/defects but for the price on Amazon you can afford to replace liners easily. Also, when you take them off don’t kick them off with the other foot at the back heel cause you’re going to ruin them soon enough just pull them off with your hands and pull them up with the boot. I’m a size 8 and purchased an 8 and these boots fit perfectly. At first they were really hard to put on and take off but after several wears they were perfect. They keep my feet nice and warm even when I wear them without socks to walk the dog. I live in Chicago and North Dakota and they’ve stood up to the harsh cold weather and everyone loves them. I was worried about the fawn getting dirty but they’re waterproof and they still look awesome. I’ve received all kinds of compliments. They also look good with my Canada Wear Gear. I’m very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend. I’m also coming back for a 3rd pair in camel soon but not sure if I’ll come back to Amazon as I don’t want to press my luck and end up with a defective pair that I’ll have to send back. Probably try Dick’s again where I have a return and satisfaction guaranteed. But Thanks Amazon and Sorel!!!!

Boots appear to be great!

I purchased these boots for the fit, form & function. They are appropriately heavy, but not “oh my goodness i’m doing a leg workout in the snow” heavy. Love the snug feeling & warmth. Unfortunately, my standard size 9 was a bit too small. I only wear my merino wool socks with my winter boots, but even those are too much. They aren’t thick, but I believe the additional insulation added takes up some foot space. That said, I’m returning for half a size up, hoping that’s all it takes to fit comfortably. I really do like these boots! 4 stars until they fit right & I can properly test them out in the snow.

Highly recommended Snow Boot (with Jambu -vegan version- comparisons)

I purchased these Sorel Joan of Arctic boots along with Jambu's vegan version Edith Snow Boot JBU by Jambu Women's Edith Snow Boot, Dark Grey, 6.5 M US.Both are great snow boots with a very similar fit, style, comfort level & provide additional warmth. Personally, I don't find either boot to be super cute, but for a snow boot, I wasn't looking for adorable. I call them my duck boots...both make my feet look bigger. lol For playing in the snow, I seriously don't care about looks...I want warmth, dry feet, comfort and good traction. Both provide this. They do look best with skinny jeans and/or fleece lined leggings.Price comparison: I paid $119.95 (Sorel) vs. $36 (Jambu) --found both at a sale price =) *If price is a major factor, I'd recommend going with Jambu. Although vegan, the quality is very similar in craftsmanship.Appearance and width factor: I do prefer the Sorel over Jambu. I have a normal width foot. Both Sorel and Jambu are very roomy in the footbed, and great for thick socks. Jambu is slightly wider in the toebox. The faux fur is very similar, but Sorel fluffs out a little more. I also prefer the detailing seams and the look of real suede on Sorel's Joan of Arctic boot.Sizing: I wear a size 6.5M in all of my boots (I only, very rarely, go up or down 1/2 size when a shoe is known to run small or large). Both boots are roomy for 6.5M, which I did expect for snow boots (and for wearing thicker socks). My Sorel are roughly 1/4" longer, while Jambu are about 1/4" wider. While wearing these, the length is not noticeable in Sorel (which also has a removable sock liner; as does Jambu), but in the Jambu, I do feel noticeable extra width. I can still wear both comfortably, but my preference aims more toward Sorel for my foot....regular/normal width (closer to wide than narrow, but not wide), high arch and narrow heel. Both have a little extra room in the heel, as I'd expect, but once laced up, the boots are secure without slippage going on. I have fairly slender calves, and I can get each to lace up almost snug for me. Both have plenty of leeway for wider calves.Traction & Snow Play: I haven't had the chance to play a lot in the snow, but both are great from testing them out. Great traction and feet stay warm and dry. Both are fairly easy to get on, but for taking off, you will need to loosen the laces very wide to remove....they are harder to get off than on.I give both 5 stars for different reasons. If the price isn't a factor, I'd recommend Sorel over Jambu (especially if you don't have a very wide foot). If price is a factor and/or you prefer vegan, Jambu is a super good option (especially, if you have a wider foot).
