They have a great grip, the laces are not overly complicated, and they come up to the perfect height for my socks to have room to bunch artfully at the ankle.My only gripe is subjective: they don’t have enough arch support for me. These are well made quality boots. They are true to size, my sneaker size not my heels size. The fit is perfect and they are very comfortable.They are snug so your foot doesn't slide around and the sides are soft and cushioned. The insoles also have a cushion to them making them very comfortable to walk in. I didn't even need to break them in. They come with thick, sturdy laces that can withstand a tight pull. They never came untied or loosened. The soles are thick with deep tread making slipping non-existent.I'm in rainy season which comes with some slippery muddy terrain. These Boots are truly waterproof and keep my feet dry and warm. I tested the tread on wet rocks, wet sidewalk and wet outdoor tile with no slipping at all. Sorel has done it again - created a boot that is stylish, practical, and high quality. These boots are true to size and comfortable, substantial without being too bulky or heavy. A great pair of winter boots from Sorel.
I'm familiar with Sorel for their snow boots and was intrigued to see this new model from them, the Ona Ave Peak Boot. I'm impressed!I chose the "Honey White/Gum" color and they are beautiful. The contrast of the off-white uppers and slightly chunky gum sole make for a very unique boot. This color in particular has a very naturalistic and minimalist look that I really appreciate. The lacing gives a nod to classic hiking boot styling and adds adjustable functionality.These look like an updated and modern take on a classic boot and I think they could easily be styled with a variety of cold weather outfits. I'll be pairing these with both jeans and sweaters as well as dresses layered over leggings.For reference, I usually wear a women's size 8 in shoes. I ordered these in an 8 and the length is perfect so I would say that they run true-to-size. I have a quite narrow foot but am wide across the toes. The toe box is wide enough to wiggle my toes even when I wear my thicker/cozy socks. The laces allow for a more customized fit. The padding at the ankle adds comfort. The gum sole is substantial and has great traction - perfect for wet weather conditions.I'm really happy with these Ona Ave Peak Boots from Sorel and will be getting a lot of wear out of them this Fall and Winter!
