Look great, narrow fit… still preppy
It’s probably been decades since I’ve owned a Sperry tennis shoe. I love these boat shoes back in the 80s, and thought they’d be a great addition to my summer wardrobe. I was very excited to take them out of the box, and they looked just like the shoes I wore nearly 40 years ago. They did seem slightly lighter and build quality, but it’s been a long time so I may be misremembering. The look was great, the cushion is minimal but adequate, and I didn’t have a chance to wear them on the decks of any boats, so I can’t attest to slip resistance. But what I did note was that they are a narrow shoe. I don’t know if that was always the case, and as I’ve gotten older, my feet have gotten wider, but it’s worth noting because it is noticeable. Overall, I was pleased, if not thrilled, and they are the perfect addition to a pair of khaki shorts and a sweater tied jauntily around ones shoulders. 😉
