Best boots for the money.
Absolutely love these boots. I wanted a pair of steel toe boots that were easy to put on in the morning and take off in the evening. Because of my job, I am also required to have boots that are lace-up boots instead of pull-up, and at least 6 inches tall because they have to provide ankle support. These boots ticked all of those boxes.I like that the boots aren’t extremely hot while working in the heat that I have experienced with them so far. It definitely helps reduce that after work smell when you take them off.The boots seem to be very durable. I don’t have the most demanding job in the world but I do typically go through a pair of boots at least once a year to year and a half. Thankfully, these boots are priced to sell! At around 1/3 of the price of other, name brand boots, you could replaced these a few times if needed before you’ve even matched the price of one pair of the other boots. By that time you may even come out on top since I don’t foresee these boots wearing out super quick.I was initially skeptical of the soles and their grip when I first saw them but I haven’t experienced any slipping yet.The boots are very comfortable when walking long distances as well, even more comfortable than my last pair which costed over $200. I frequently walk half a mile or more just to get from where my car is parked to the actual job site and do additional walking throughout the day. According to my watch, I put between 4-7 miles of walking in every single work day.As of now I only have 2 minor complaints but neither would keep me from buying the boots again or taking a star away. The first is the laces. They are somewhat thin and kinda hard to handle for me. I’m sure not everyone will struggle with this like I do but, I will be replacing the laces for something a little easier for me to handle. The other complaint is how the boots feel on the back of my ankle. I want to be clear that it is not painful or uncomfortable but, there is a part of the cloth of the boot that bends inward when you point your toes far enough (like pressing your gas pedal all the way down in your car). Because this is a motion that I frequently do with my job, this is a common occurrence and it just feels weird. It’s not anything that would cause me to take a star away, or not buy the boots again, because it doesn’t hurt or cause blistering and only happens under this specific condition.Overall, I love these boots and I will definitely buy them again when I inevitably ware this pair out.For reference, my job requires me to do the following movements frequently: climb up and down, walk distances between 50ft to half a mile at one time, carry items on my shoulder up to 50 lbs by myself and more weight with at least one helper, and drive a truck.
