I really like these boots

I have had these for a few weeks and worn them a few times. I really like these boots and I think they look sharp. I have the taupe color and love the way these look with dark jeans. Mine are leather sole and yes, they are slick when brand new, but after wearing them for a while they rough up and are not bad at all. Much like any other leather sole shoe I have worn. This is a kid leather and it is a thinner leather, but seemingly quite durable. I like the look and feel of these boots. I would absolutely buy these again.I would order a half size down. I wear a 10.5 in Asics running shoes and I should have ordered a 10 in these boots. I have them in 10.5 and they are longer than I would prefer. Size wise they are ok, I can and do wear them, but I would size down to a 10 if I were to do it again.

Quality shoe

Bought these and get lots of compliments. Vintage looking. Extremely well made. A little slippery out of the box, so get some of those slip reducing stickers until the leather wears in. Also invest in polish, though an eraser also does well to remove black scuffs

The shoes are fantastic. White is a very dangerous color since every scuff you get on them is very easily noticed so be aware of that. Also, one of my the shoes came with a broken lace hook but I didn't mind because the laces weren't long enough if i wrapped the laces around every hook, so I just skipped one of the pair of hooks and was able to tie a knot. The bottoms of the shoes are a very smooth shiny leather or something so if you walk on anything rough like concert, that smooth bottom will instantly be ruined. You could definitely improve the comfort of these boots with one of those foot cushions from CVS for a longer wear time. But overall, I still loved the boots.

Good shoe

Comfortable, light weight. Kidskin leather shines up real nice. These are classy shoes and I get compliments on them. They were squeaky when first arrived, as others had stated. But I took mink oil and oiled the shoes good on the tongue, sides and heal especially. Rub it in hard like oiling a baseball glove. Only problem I have with the brown is they scuff easily, but I clean and shine them regularly

READ BEFORE PURCHASE

These boots were a major disappointment! I returned them with a vehemence.I restore, patina, and shine men’s dress shoes and boots as a hobby. Never have I come across a product as cheap as these boots on Amazon or from Stacy Adams. I’ll tell you what I learned from examination:The thickness of the leather was immediately apparent. It was about the thickness of 3 credit cards, and I only took a few steps in one boot before questioning if it might fall apart before I could return it. I wouldn’t trust these boots on a trail or on the sidewalk. They’re flimsy and feel like a sheet of fabric around the feet. The quality of the leather was a joke. It looked cheap and was indeed cheap. There was a coating of schlock on the surface of the leather. I tested for absorption using conditioner which just sat on the surface, meaning the leather would never breathe, it was waterproof/conditioner-proof, and there was absolutely no maintenance that could be done on them. They could not be conditioned or polished unless acetone was used - even then the leather is so thin that the pores are too shallow to hold a thing. The stitches were cheap and lengthy (less stitches to keep the leather and lining together). The upper leather and lining were poorly stitched together.A lot of the shoe was glued. A cap toe should not be glued. The laces were cheap. The insoles ended half way, leaving half the inner exposed and surely uncomfortable to stand on for long periods of time. The only positive is the outsole looked nice and fairly sturdy. I don’t understand why the outsole would be Goodyear welted but the entire upper of the boot so cheaply made. These make for better Christmas ornaments than footwear.

"Old Man's Comfort"

I love this style "Stacy Adams" shoe. I guess you could call them retro. Not only are they comfortable, I was surprised at how many compliments I got on them. They are all leather, top and bottom. When they break in, the inside will form itself to the bottom of your foot.

Great $50 boots priced at $130...

UPDATE- Photos added!! Both pairs of these boots are approximately 2 years old, with average occasional wear. Grey pictured with taupe for comparison!I didn't quite know what to expect with these boots, and I won't lie,,I LOVE these boots! They're like an old VW Bug,,it's no Porsche, but ya just gotta love the silly thing! I'm a sucker for good quality bootwear,,,Aldens, Danner, J.Crew,,so I'm confident that I can review boots pretty well. For these Stacy Adams I gave them 4 stars mostly for style points. The craftsmanship is fine,,nothing spectacular, but works. The leather is thin "kid" leather. If it truly is goat, it should be fairly durable and strong, but it doesn't feel like it is. The ankle wrap upper leather feels more like pleather than real leather. The foot section creases quickly and gives a good, classy worn look. It feels and looks more like real leather. As for fit- these boots are definitely for narrow feet, which I have. Those with wider feet will NOT like these. They run true to size, but note- they are a long, pointy boot, so there will be some toe space. Very comfortable once an insole is added. Without it, they are your basic, leather sole feeling boot,,hard. You can't beat the classy styling and appearance, very cool. All in all I'd say the boot is a $50 boot priced too high, but I, myself, am happy with the purchase, and plan to get the grey and black colors. One thing to mention,,,they are NOISY, SQUEAKY out of the box. Leather conditioner is a MUST right away and the noise stops. The leather is very dry from the factory and needs conditioned anyway.
