Comfortable right out of the box even without being broken in yet. I ordered my usual size and they fit perfectly. They feature a suede and mesh upper, and a heavy rubber sole. I'm going to use these as hiking boots, and they have exactly the ankle support I was looking for without being too heavy. And as you can see, they are quite good looking too.They are steel toed, but the plate doesn't feel intrusive. They feel like decent quality boots at a value price. Time will tell how well they hold up....shoes and boots are one of those things that are all nice when they're new, but 6 months of normal wear will tell the whole story. I will come back and edit if anything changes, but so far, I'm happy with them.

Good Shoes for Long Work Days

I used to work for a garden center as a delivery guy. I spent about 8-10 hours a day on my feet (and driving) bringing expensive flower arrangements, large plants, and sometimes statues or big loads of mulch to people. It was difficult finding the right shoes because boots would get too hot and heavy by the end of the day, and sneakers weren't strong enough for the workload, plus if I dropped something on my toe in a sneaker, I'd get hurt.I wish I had these shoes when I had that job! For one thing, they are sized absolutely perfectly for my 10½ foot. The level of support is good too — sometimes I need inserts for flat-fitting shoes, but not with these. The laces are strong and the eyelets are secure. I was a little surprised that the top four holders are actually oblong eyelets and not clasps, meaning they have to be threaded instead of just wrapping around them. This is unusual for the ankle-tops of boots.After I got these I walked around for a day in them. it's summer and my feet got a little hot, but not uncomfortably so because they do seem to breathe. They state they are anti-smash, anti-puncture, anti-slip safety shoes, but I didn't really have a way to test all of that, so I'll just trust the claims. I will say the soles have a tight grip and the materials seems durable.My suspicion is the suede-like material on the top is probably going to wear pretty quickly, especially around the toes area, unlike a leather shoe. Especially if I ever wear these in wet weather. Also, my biggest gripe that loses a star is the tongue isn't long enough! When you wear the shoes and lace it to the top, the lace hits your sock because the tongue is about ½" too short, even when you pull it up all the way. It wasn't entirely uncomfortable, but I did notice that my ankle was rubbing against the lace instead of the shoe itself.Overall, I'm pretty happy with these boots. They'll be good for long walking days in cooler weather, or if I return to my delivery job in the future.
