Run small, but great boot once you get the right size!

Love the boots l, the look and feel great. However I ordered a 10 1/2 and they are uncomfortably small. Returning them for refund and for sure getting the next size up!

Disappointed

Good points:Looks Great!Not so good points:Very poor fit - it's runs too narrow.The insoles have absolutely no cushioning or arch support. If you try to add an insole your foot won't fit in the shoe. After over a month of breaking it in walking in this boot is still a painful experience.Feels poorly constructed with low quality materials - the sole seems to be especially flimsyThe tongue is gusseted all the way to the top but the zipper is not (these boots are not water resistant anyway)Since the tongue is fully gusseted it is hard to get it to sit evenly across across the lacesExpected a better boot from the Madden label. Hopefully there will be a version 2 that fits better.

Thoroughly impressed!!

This is my second pair of these if that says something. A pair of boots usually will only last me 6-7 months even a pair of Danners or keens. I’ve worn these every day since I got them over 1.5 years ago and they are still going strong with no tears or separation from the soul whatsoever, I live on a sailboat and I’m constantly in and out of the saltwater with them and they are quite waterproof and even hold up in a harsh salty environment, which usually destroys leather boots very quickly. When you first get these, they are going to be very stiff and uncomfortable because they are made out of the real stuff and you are going to need to be a man and break them in, after that, you are good to go for a few years! I highly recommend these.

Great Style, pretty good quality

I love the look of all the steve madden shoes that I have gotten from amazon. They all however are not top of the line quality, leather is thinner than expected, fits a little stiff, and the sole can come unglued over time. I simply glue mine and happen to fit the shoe well so the stiffness isn't a problem. But like I said I love the look and they feel great on my feet. I gave four stars rather than five because this style is a little tough to get on and off, even with the very necessary zipper, and I can tell that over time it will wear out were I have to put strain on the leather. For me though, I still love the look and feel.

Not bad, not great

I wanted some new boots in black but didn't really want to spend a whole lot of money. Read reviews on these and they're all pretty accurate. These run REALLY snug, particularly on the arch and side of my feet. I bought a boot stretcher for about $20 and used it on each boot, that made a difference. If I try to use just the side zip for getting my feet in and out, it's pretty difficult. Very little arch support, decidedly will need a lot of breaking in. The leather is pretty cheap and stiff. Still, for the price? Not horrible. They do look good.

second only to my other maddens!

Apparently I am I Steve Madden boots fan because this is my second pair and I didn't do it on purpose. The other ones i have are the dual front zipper style with the buckle on the side, and they're the Best! Got them on clearance at a Steve Madden store for peanuts!I love these boots too! They are very comfortable, the tread is sticky, and excellent, they look awesome, they are light, and flexible and seem very well made.These are not stiff heavy clunky boots though they kind of look and feel that way at first. Even the sole has a decent flex. You could absolutely sneak around in these boots like a ninja without clomping everywhere.Like nearly any leather boot they are a bit stiff at first, but they break in fast, and become quite soft and very comfortable. I was a bit concerned out of the box that they were going to be too stiff and uncomfortable but they really became pliable and form fitting.So far I have no complaints. Unless they spontaneously combust I think we're all good. Steve Madden seems to make a quality boot.

Too narrow through the instep and you can't replace the insoles. If you have skinny feet and don't need extra arch support they're probably fine. However the zipper goes pretty low in the boot, so I suspect they're not very good in wet conditions. Wouldn't know because I could wear them. Returned.
