My son has always had chubby feet. That has made finding shoes that fit a challenge. Stride Rite quickly became my favored brand. Their shoes are consistently well made, of good quality, comfortable for him, and they fit as they are available in wide and extra wide sizes. Yes, these may be a little expensive when one considers that little kids grow so quickly. However, in my opinion, they are worth the cost.

Happy I was able to get this cheaper through Amazon than directly from Stride Rite’s website. Good quality sandal. I just wish the part that covers the top of the foot didn’t come up so high to the ankle. My son hasn’t gotten any blisters, but his skin gets a bit red from that top part rubbing since he has chunky feet/ankles. Overall though, I am very pleased with the quality from Stride Rite. True to size.
Took a lot of trial and error to figure out size even after following the size chart. By the size chart a 5 should’ve only been 1-2 inches bigger but it was MUCH bigger. Finally landed on a size 4 wide and that’s what works for my baby. The shoe feels thick like it will last a while. We did a receive a used pair and noticed scuffing on the leather so something to be aware of with heavy use. A little expensive for what it is honestly but it’s hard to find wide size shoes for babies/toddlers.
I bought these a little bit too big last year and my son ripped it up all summer running around. They fit in perfect over a year later and I need to order a brand new pair. They lasted so well.
Thinking stride rites are of a pretty high quality, I was shocked when they arrived. They had clearly been worn and badly scuffed. After getting a replacement pair, with in two times of being worn, my child was starting to get blisters around her ankle because the material is so stiff and feels very cheap. Do not buy.
