Aesthetically, smart looking without being chunky. Very light. First time I tried them, they seemed to hug my feet (without being tight). The cushioning all round was comfortable. I tried with and without socks. Both work just as well. I prefer using socks because I prefer to sweat into the socks. I used very thin socks. Regular or thick socks would not work. Zippers are great and that was one main reason I was interested in this shoe. I'm sick of tying and untying laces, too troublesome. The zippers a bit stiff to pull up and down. I guess I could try lubricating them. For people who find it difficult to bend and then having to drag the zipper, these shoes may prove a challenge to wear. I've worn these shoes for about a week and the zippers are still stiff.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Light, comfy, almost forget sometimes I am wearing shoes. I do wish the lower part isn't white. Although the shoes are easy to clean, and have been waterproof when I walked onto wet grass. I've not tried them in the rain. I have dripped water over them and they remained dry. Instead of white, maybe, a gray or another shade of black. The white stands out a bit too much. But it's not a major complaint. I still enjoyed wearing the shoes and am very pleased to use them for my morning 2-3 mile walks. I've not had to break in the shoes. First morning I walked in them, I barely remembered I was wearing new shoes.I liked the other Thermoball boot that's similar to this. However, the Northface logo is so prominent. I didn't like that at all. Too loud. Especially if wearing with something ladylike like a skirt or dress.As for size, I bought a 6. My usual is 5 to 5.5. After reading other reviews, I'm glad I chose 6. The fit may be a bit narrow for some people. Toe box is ample, but if I had chosen a 5.5, that could have been too restrictive.Yes, I definitely recommend this shoes. One of the better buys in my shoe shopping.

Very practical
These have a comfortable, cushioned footbed. They fit and look like a running shoe, though they do run small in the length. The one thing I’m on the fence about is how tight they are at the top when fully zipped. This might become bothersome after a while.

My winter boots
I live in these boots once the winter season begins, from October to March. They are warm and waterproof. I am usually a 5.5, but I know I need to fit wool socks, so I sized up to a 6. You'll get a lot of compliments, and there are no laces to fidget with when it's under 32 degrees: zip and go.
