Adult beginner here...these fit me perfectly. I wear a size 7 in regular shoes (size 8 in sneakers) and ordered these in an 8, normal width. They did the job. Especially nice for when you're just starting out and don't know how long you will be doing tap.
I am taking a tap class this semester and we had to buy our own tap shoes. I originally went to payless and bought their $30 pair thinking I could save a little money. After three classes I was so embarrassed by the absolutely horrid quality that I came on amazon and found these beauties. They are affordable, comfortable and the taps are so much clearer and cleaner than my previous pair. I wear an 8 or 8.5 shoe size and ordered these in 8.5, I should have gotten the 8 but it's not bad.The only downside is the strong smell of the shoes, they have a residual staining smell from the leather or something, make sure to air them out thoroughly before using them. Mine still sort of smell like they came right out of the factory and I've had them for three months.Good quality though! I've used them several dozen times and they look like new! The only wear is on the taps themselves.
Held up to weekly tap classes for the last 2 years, but this year is starting to show more wear, but still tapping!
These tap shoes are exactly what my daughter's dance instructor wanted her to have. They fit true to size, with no pinching or squeezing, are comfortable and produce a loud tap. She has worn them in a couple competitions and she loves them!
The tap sound is good, not cheap sounding. Fit is true to size. If you are in between sizes, choose to size up. I normally wear a 9 or 9.5, and the 9.5 fit perfect plus they will give and soften slightly.Overall, a great buy. We’ll see how long they last… tbd
If a picture is worth 1000 words then here are three. We just received my daughter‘s “new“ tap shoes. I don’t know what in the world happened here but these are obviously very used, very worn and broken shoes that were sent to us.We are obviously returning them. The strange part is we had ordered the same shoes two years ago they were in perfect condition and lasted for two years. We liked them so much we re-ordered them when we needed a new pair. So again, obviously there was a big mistake made this time round.
