Do not buy 2 1/2 sizes smaller
I wear a size 7 1/2 street shoe and listened to everyone here that said to buy these 2 1/2 sizes smaller. I bought the size 5, instead of a 5 1/2 which is what I normally do with ballet slippers (2 sizes smaller than street shoes) and I'm sorry I listened. I received the shoes a day before a trip and had to keep them. I like to wear ballet slippers on my flights and the fit was so tight I couldn't get my heel in, and had to walk on the back of the heels. It's been almost two months now and they've finally stretched out so that my whole foot fits in. However, my big toe will be poking through the leather in a matter of months or weeks. So I love the shoes, and I'll buy another pair, but will buy a size 5 1/2. The only other negative is the elastic which is sewn way too high on the foot. In looking at the model pic here, the elastic is sewn close to the middle seam. On my pair, the elastic is sewn halfway between the mid seam and the back of the shoe - a very uncomfortable place for the elastic to be sewn. The shoes are soft and pretty, and they run on the narrow side, which is great for me, as I although I wear a B width, my foot is a narrow B and these are perfect, no gaping on the side.

Beautiful Ballet Shoes
They are beautifully made and I was so disappointed that they did not fit me. These are intermediate level ballet shoes. Fit is important, so be sure to measure your foot and follow the size chart before ordering. I have bought many pairs of ballet shoes and ordered my usual size. These run large. I had to return these beautiful shoes sadly, however; the return was very easy and I will try again.

Better Than Expected for the Price
For the price they are much better than expected. They are well made, and the split sole looks like it will take a lot of wear. They come with the elastic already sewn on, which is nice.I ordered both 2 sizes and 1 1/2 sizes down from my street size. For me, 1 1/2 sizes down fit best because of the shape of the shoe. It is definitely designed for a more tapered foot with a narrow forefoot and toes. With my wide forefoot and toes, the shoe extends beyond my toes in a way that would be a problem if I were using them to dance. I wear them to barre class and they are fine for that purpose.

Comfort all around and elastic not too high
Size 2 whole sizes down from street shoes. I am a true 5.5 and the 3.5M fits perfect. I tried and returned so many styles because the elastic was too high up cutting into the edge of my feet but these theatricals are more 3/4 way up. The leather is super soft. I use it for ballet workouts and can’t wait to use them!

Meant for a narrow foot
so I don't have a perfect ballet foot, I'm aware that my foot is wide but while I was in my dance class I was so uncomfortable I had to take them off. These shoes are meant for someone with a narrow foot, I have tried to break them in but leather is so hard to break in. I like the shoe but its definitely not meant for a wide somewhat flat foot. I would need something wide or with more stretch.

Great fit, extremely great price.
We needed shoes in a hurry for recital. The shoes we ordered were a size 6 for a women's running shoe size 8. The shoes arrived in 2 days (thanks to Prime) with no shipping delays. The shoes fit beautifully with a little room in the toes that my daughter could cinch up. They were perfect.
