The Thorogood 804-6446 Men's Station 8-inch Front Zip Oblique Steel Toe Boot in Black is a robust and reliable choice for those who require footwear that can handle tough environments. With an approximate height of 8 inches, this boot features a stylish yet functional design, combining smooth high-shine leather with full-grain padded leather quarters for added comfort and durability.
One of the standout elements of this boot is its Goodyear welt construction, which enhances longevity and allows for resoling, ensuring your investment lasts. The comfort weave lining provides breathability, while the removable Poly-Pillow Footpacer footbed adds extra cushioning for all-day wear.
The outsole is designed to withstand challenging conditions, featuring an oil, heat, and slip-resisting Vibram Security heavy-duty lug that is also non-marking, making it suitable for various workplaces. Additionally, the boot meets ASTM safety standards with a steel toe that offers protection from impact and compression, making it an essential addition to your safety gear.

These boots are very comfortable once broken in. The only con i have to it is they are a little too bulky but other than that these boots are GREAT!
This is the third pair of these boots that I have owned for daily station wear in the firehouse. The previous pair lasted four years! Thorogood makes an excellent boot and I believe that these are their finest. The built is shine in the leather lasts for a very long time, and when it does dull, a simple polish will keep it good again for a month. These boots also have NEVER leaked water EVER. I end up replacing them because the steel toe wears through the leather eventually from crawling around, but other than the cosmetic wear, the boots still always have a lot of life left in them. I would recommend purchasing these boots for your daily fire station boots.
Great boots I would recommend them to anyone in the fire service. I purchased them as a station boot and haven't been happier with anything else. Well worth the money .
I'm a badas$ smokeater in a large fire department. ThIs is my third pair of these boots. They generally last me two to three years. With these boots, I'm spry like a little midget ninja, ready to attack at a moments notice. They also make me look taller, feel thinner, and generally more appealing to the opposite sex. I also feel very sturdy on my feet on account of my weak ankles.
Boot came scuffed up. Directions on how to lace them are a joke. They are a nice boot but way too heavy for doing urban EMS for 12 hours.
These look great and the materials seem decent. Good, comfy insole and shiny leather. Leather was quite stiff out of the box but is breaking in quickly so I suspect its actually a bit on the thin side. Nice vibram outsole with 90 degree heel. The real gem is the last and fit. Nice, wide and roomy toe box. I was really liking them. The aesthetics, the fit, was great.Unfortunately I stood in a puddle. Now, I know they are not rated as waterproof but a good quality leather boot with GYW construction should tolerate a bit of adversity. After standing in the puddle the midsoles in both boots seemed to deform and developed a heavy ridge right in the center. That is, after they IMMEDIATELY leaked water directly into the boot. Very disappointing, I guess I know why Thorogood no longer makes this particular model. How do they figure this will hold up to Fire and EMS duty work??
