The Beat Work Boot I Have Ever Used!

Great work boot! The leather is soft yet durable and the soles are sturdy and comfortable. I wear them everyday on our Dairy Farm and am impressed that they have not required inserts in them yet. If I get a year out of them, I will be really impressed and will be back buying another pair. Most other manufacturers only last 6-9 months. So stay tuned for a future review.Update: So if memory serves me correctly, on my first review, my boots were about 6 months old and I was blown away with them at that point. In the end, I almost got 2 years out of them before the sides blew out from the cow manure eating the leather where it attaches to the sole. Had I kept them a little cleaner, I am very confident that I could have gotten 2 years out of them. Likewise I put Dr. Scholl’s inserts in them after a year of use. Then I ran into a problem where I couldn’t find them in my size and I had to go to an alternate company. Which was disappointing as most others have been in the past. I was under the understanding that they were discontinued and you could only get the steel toe, which I’m not a fan of because of seeing someone loose their toes from them. Different story. Yet to my surprise, I found them on here again. So this time I purchased 2 pairs. If I got practically 2 years out of the last pair, I’m hoping to do the same with this pair. Likewise, if I run into an issue where I can’t get replacements, and I hope that doesn’t occur, I have a back up pair. Bottom line, in 40ish years I’ve been wearing and being around these types of boots, I have never encountered ones that hold up this well. And I can only pray that they do not change the way they make them or stop making them. If you want an American Made Boot that will withstand everything a dairy can put them through, this is the right boot for you.I also want to explain the fit. They are fairly true to the size. And when you get them, they will be a little tight. If they are really tight, then send them back and get the next size up. But if they are a little tight, they will stretch. Likewise, if you want to speed up the process, get them really wet on the outside and wear them until they are dry. They will stretch and form to your foot quicker. After they are dry, then wipe them down with some WD-40 or similar lubricant so it softens the leather up a little, but also help keep the leather from drying out. Now keep in mind I also do this because of the environment I use them in.I hope this helps people in selecting a good quality boot that is also made in America.

Worth the money!

Bought these for my son, to replace his worn out pair. He does landscape work, is outside and on his feet all day. His first pair lasted him about a year, longest boot life he's had so far. He states there is instant comfort out of the box, with a real easy leather break in. The leather quality was strong and held up, it was the soles/wedges that wore down and eventually split under the toe area. They have good slip resistance, and have plenty of arch support for a slip boot. Work boot wise, sizing is on point. He states these are a light weight boot.

Falling apart

I have worn this style of boots (RedWings) for many years but thought I would try Thorogood's this time since a friend had recently bought a pair and liked them. He recently showed me the stitching was coming apart and a few weeks later mine started doing the same thing and in the same spot his was. Both pair of boots were about a year old and he wears his to work and I only wear mine for casual use. Clearly there is an issue with the strength of the thread they are using since both of us are having identical issues. I contacted customer service and was told they were out of warranty by a couple months and I would have to ship them back to have them repaired at my expense. My boots look new and have not been abused and I feel that it is a defect in their material (thread/sewing) and my wearing them for casual use did not cause this. I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot more having the same issue. I paid over $200 for them and I refuse to spend a bunch of money for shipping and to have them repaired, only to fall apart again. I will be going back to RedWing's.

Best Boot Made.............PERIOD!

I have worn pull-on Wellington type work boots for decades. I am a concrete contractor and spend the majority of my time on my feet, in really rough conditions. During that time, I have tried virtually every brand available. Some are better than others. For years, I wore Wolverines but their quality in both materials used and construction has declined considerably. For a while, I thought Redwings were the best boot made................but then a friend convinced me to buy Thorogood American made boots. I was blown away. From the sole of the boot to the pull-on tabs, and everything in-between, these are the finest boots available, at any price............AND, they are Made in America. Premium leather, quality soles, attention to detail in their stitching, all combined with a design never seen before. Are they expensive? Absolutely, but if you spend your workday on your feet, you know all too well the price paid by skimping on footwear.

To big

Reviews were right, shoe is 1/2 size to big. Seemed comfortable and I’m sure after the break in period it would fit really nice. Returning my 11.5 wide and exchanging for 11 wide.Edit: gonna give it two weeks to break in before I return it. My feet are so wide that returning them for a half a size down prolly will be to small. Will give an update in two weeks.Edit: ended trying to break in the boot for a week and a half but it was a no go. The boot was to long in length and I wasn’t about to spend that kind of money on a boot that doesn’t fit perfect. I returned the boot back to amazon today and will look for something else with a perfect fit
