Thorogood Boots
These are hand made union boots. Great quality but I’ve always had issues with sizing so it might take a few tries to get the right pare. They’re fairly comfortable out of the box but will have a break in period. They’re durable and the wedge sole is slip resistant. I think they’re a little over priced since mine have a slight imperfection on the blucher, it’s on a slight angle and kind of bothers me but they feel good. The tongue is unruly; it probably has twice as much material as it needs but after they’re broke in it should be good.

Steel Toes for men and women
I am a female welder. Most companies do not sell female steel toes so I usually end up going with men’s. Thorogood is the best brand, they are comfy and very well made. I do not have a problem wearing them all day long. I am a 9 in women’s so I ordered a size 7 and they are perfect. I recommend this boots for both men and women.

Cusion insoles, wider boot, less tongue
I understand some people love these boots, I thought I would too as I have another pair (different style) very comfortable. I could not wear these boots long enough to break them in. Ive had them on 5 or 6 times for a few hours, I know not long enough to break them in, but it's all I could stand. After each attempt my feet hurt for days. These boots have no "cushion". The insoles are very thin & the boots need to be wider. The tongue on these boots is the most aggravating in a boot I've ever encountered. I will keep trying to break them in but I will never buy another pair.

I love these boots, I had been dealing with knee pain for years assuming it was just my trade and arthritis, I had been wearing " wings" for 25 years with heeled type sole. I was told a wedge sole would help , I did not like that most wedge soles were white and also many didn't have steel or safety toe..these hit the mark with two requirements I hadn't seen before. As others said they run a little tight in standard width. I went with the wide in a size 10..I wear 10.5 in athletic shoes..so they run big in length and tight and width. I knew this before I ordered. I couldn't be happier

Why did you pick this product vs others?:These Boots are Very comfortable. I bought these just to have a nice pair of boots to wear when we go out. I've worn Nothing but Red Wings my whole life so I was hesitant ordering anything else but I'm very glad I did. I can't speak to how long these would last in the work place but I have friends that swear by these boots. I just ordered the all black ones for work so We'll see how they do.
