Great winter boots, they fit slightly snug so I would recommend wide width or go up a 1/2 size up. I just went with my Brannock size in the wide width. The first thing I noticed was the insoles are very thick almost a 1/4 inch. If you get them I would suggest trying some other insoles.
Love the way they fit.Do not love how long they last.I work in the construction industry, and they made it three months before coming apart at the seams.Seems like a lot of money to spend to me for something to last three months very disappointed, and we'll never buy them again
I saw the other review on here and would just say to manage expectations. I don't know where they're made, us or foreign and don't really care if they work good. Modern Red Wings last me less than 6 months, danner's hold up for about a year, and just put these things on in the first thing I noticed is that they are super comfortable compared to most other boots. We'll see how long they last, if they last a year that would be worth the couple hundred price point. Premium handmade work boots are in the $800 whites/nicks, and for me at least I destroy boots too fast
Pretty decent boot. A bit too tight. Good quality leather and outsoles. Construction is passable, but should be better at this price--I'm surprised to find so much PU foam.The speed hooks are particularly unfortunate. I don't like speed hooks in general because they are completely unnecessary for a six inch boot and they slow me down. These speed hooks are especially small. It is difficult to adjust tension without the laces falling completely out of the hooks. I may eventually replace them with grommets.It struggles to deliver the full value of its asking price. It would be a really solid value if you can get it at a significant discount.
These good-looking insulated boots are warm and toasty. I don't use these for work (since, I am retired over 20 years). I just use them in the cold months going out to keep my feet comfortable. Get many compliments since I was told by people they look, so " BAD ASS". The quality of the Crazy Horse leather and the sure grip Vibram soles (Italian designed soles) makes my feet feel happy and secure. Thorogood boots served my purpose and functionality. These are true to size 2E wide with no steel or composite toe. There are not many good-looking insulated men's boots of high quality out there, except for work situations. I may buy another pair soon, since in my experience of life, when I find something, I like, guess what? It gets discontinued. Hello again on 12/02/2025 Well folks Was I right? The six-inch version without composite toe has just been discontinued by Thorogood! That is the story of my life! Good Luck
I work in an intense environment, that requires me to put my footwear through h3ll and back! Most my boots started to break down after one month of usage and getting beat up. From timberlands pro, wolverines, to even merrells. This is my first pair of thorogoods, and they are by far my favorite boots especially for its price it’s worth it! In two weeks, my boots took a major beating and the leather is still stiff and the sole still looks like it never touched the floor. AMAZING QUALITY BOOTS PLEASE BUY THEM AND YOU WILL SEE👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I’m looking for my next pair to buy🤪
Thorogood has a quality control problem. I've worn Thorogood boots for 15 years with no problems. This last pair I bought, the soles delaminated from toe in less than a month. And for anyone thinking you'll have the warranty to fall back on, DON'T. YOU have to pay to have them shipped back to Thorogood for inspection while you wait. Work doesn't stop so I'll have to buy another pair of boots to wear while I wait.
