I have worn Thorogood boots for years and found them to be top quality and made of high quality leather. I needed a pair of good work shoes, so I thought I would try the Thorogood brand again.Sadly, these shoes are a major disappointment. There is no leather in these shoes. These shoes look, smell and feel as if they are made of polyurethane. Some people will cheat and call this PU leather. In fact, these shoes have no leather content whatsoever.Another disappointment is that although the shoes are advertised as "Made in the USA", the tags clearly state "Made in China" as shown in my photo. I don't like being misled on product details. I'm always ready to pay more for a high quality product.I'm afraid to wear these shoes because there is absolutely no stitching in the soles. I expect the uppers to crack and the soles to separate very quickly under daily use. I have no choice but to return these shoes.Apparently the Thorogood shoes are not made in the same factory or to the same standard as the Thorogood boots. This is a shame! One star, if that.
A little big. In dress shoes my husband wears a 12, and to exchange for 11. But fits great, no slip is good for his job. He’s very happy.
First impression- comfortable and good looking shoe. They feel great on my feet and better than any other dress shoe that I own. These shoes run VERY much larger than what you typically wear. I wear a size 13 Brooks running shoe and a size 13 Danner boot.....I wear an 11 1/2 in these Thorogoods! That’s a HUGE desparity.
I wear an 11.5 wide in running shoes, 11.5-12 in boots and 11.5 wide in dress shoes. I ordered these shoes for the Police Academy as our daily wear shoes. They are at least a size and a half too big, By too big I mean, too long and too wide. The sizing on these shoes is way out of line with other shoes. Aside from that, they are great shoes. They polish well, it only took two weeks of every other night polishing to get a great base on them. Now they only need polished once a week. They are comfortable for wear during the entire day also (10+ hours). Aside from size, I would recommend these shoes.
This is my second pair of these great uniform shoes. First pair lasted more than 5 years of intermittent wear. I wore the old pair 5 days a week for the past 18 months. While the uppers remain in great condition, the heels wore unevenly to the point they were no longer comfortable. Probably not the fault of the shoe. When I ordered the new pair, I realized the old pair were wider than I intended to buy. The extra unneeded width probably had something to do with the wear pattern. This new pair is normal width and fits much better. I'm sure they will remain serviceable for years to come.
