Good, sturdy. I broke them in with a little rubbing alcohol on the socks.They went from hard as a rock, to ok, on the first couple of days.I wear a 9.5-10. I bought the 9.5.With the gel soles in them, they are JUST too tight, so i took them out.I have been tying them tightly, lacing them up to stretch them to fit.The only part of the boot that is not exactly correct is the "heel box".My feet move up and down in the boot, because there is no pronounced pocket for my heels to slide back in to, to anchor my feet down in the boot. I hope that will improve as I form fit the top leather. (I have had these boots for about 2 weeks now).I still like them.

Fit is perfect!
I don't know why so many reviews claim that these run big. I order size 9M and they fit exactly like the Timberlands that are getting replaced. The heritage classic is a very good looking boot like the old ones I still have from the eighties. These are in the original wheat color and not that strange orange color of the newer ones. Unfortunately it seems that these are discontinued.

These are the worst boots I've ever owned
The sizing is weird. I take a 12 but I got 11.5 because of other reviews. These do run large. The 12 would have been way too big but the 11.5 was slightly too small. They were very hard to get on and even laced up tight my foot kept moving around in them. After wearing them for only about 10 minutes it felt so good to take these off.It's weird, because I have another pair of Timberland boots that I would say are the best I've ever owned (and I paid half the price for them that I paid for these). I was very happy to send these back.They do look very nice, they just feel terrible.
