Great All Day Safety Boot
I make it a point to get new safety work boots every year, even if my current pair still has life in it. My job provides an annual boot allowance, which makes it easy to test new brands without much hassle. After wearing Timberland Pros for years, I ventured out and tried the Carhartt Rugged Flex and later the Hytest FootRest 2.0 Xergy. They were decent enough to get me through the year, but nothing felt like home.A few days ago, I returned to my tried-and-true: Timberland Pro. This time, I purchased the Boondocks, and let me tell you, I’m in love. Right out of the box, the boot looks incredible: well-packaged, laced up, and tied at the top. Once I loosened the laces and slipped them on, the fit was perfect. I have wide feet, and while I wear a standard size 11, the toe box felt just as spacious as a wide boot. In the harsh winter weather of Northern Pennsylvania, I’ve walked through snow, ice, and slush, including puddles of freezing slush, and not once did my feet get wet or cold. The insulation and waterproofing are top-tier.The tread is aggressive and confidence-inspiring. Every step feels stable, no matter the surface. You genuinely feel like your feet will stay under you in rough conditions, which is critical when safety matters.For me, the Timberland Pro Boondocks are a clear winner. Heavier than my last pair
These are a bit different from the last pair of Timberlands I bought for work. The last pair were more like high-top shoes with composite toes, very light and airy. Super comfortable. These are boots. Reinforcements cover the toe and the heel, giving an impression of armor; these are going to last for a while. That does add weight to the boot, these are not dainty.The Boondock are also among the most comfortable boots I have owned. Timberland being the majority manufacturer in that group. I alternate between days sitting at a desk and days walking miles on concrete. My feet are protected, armored, in these boots and very comfortable.The toe box doesn't feel cramped, but neither does it feel like they are hanging in an open space. No pinching nor binding anywhere.Laces are round, but don't loosen through extensive walking.Eyelets are configured to tighten the boots up for support. My style is to wear them a bit loose; they don't bind my pant legs up too much in that configuration either.For the money, they are incredibly comfortable and durable. My last pair, Drivetrain, were very lightweight and sported a gash across the top of right toe, but their utility hadn't diminished, and I continued to wear them for another year before purchasing the Boondock. The Boondock appears capable of shrugging off what would have damaged the Drivetrain.I would highly recommend Timberland as a brand, the Boondock specifically for those needing durability. The Drivetrain for those who are required to have the features, but don't need the armor the Boondock offers.

I always get timberland PRO boots. This is probably my 10th pair. Out of all of them these have been the most comfortable and light. Definitely worth it! I am hoping they last at least a year. My last pair lasted 2 years.
