Comfort out of the box

Shoes are a gamble even being able to try them on. The good selection of sizes encouraged me to try ordering these, and it ended up being a solid choice. I normally wear a 1/2-size smaller, but did not want to end up with a too small shoe. They are slightly big, but with a running sock instead of a dress sock they are fine.Travelling overseas I wore these on the trip there, extra convenience at security since they slip on and off. The first day they were on my feet 16 hours straight including jaunts around a mine. They were so comfortable I almost forgot I had new shoes on were it not for their standout appearance (no scuffs etc.). They are also not too bulky as safety shoes go, so I can still fit them in my small carryon suitcase. They also serve sytlishly as a business-casual shoe, and it'd be hard to tell they are actually safety shoes. The only drawback: a little hard to get on and off for a slip-on, but this is easing with use and will probably cease to be an issue at all.

Hard to put on

I found this shoe to be high quality. I wear 13 EE and this came in 13 w. I needed the EE, the W was as expected, a touch too tight. Putting the shoe on was really difficult for an old man. Required a long, strong, steel shoe horn and it actually hurt getting it on my foot. Once on, it was comfy other than the width. The shoe was also heavy and warm on my foot. This shouldn't be a problem for a younger guy in a work environment. The 13 length was perfect, and I have plenty of 13's that are too short so they seem to have the fit correct, at least for me. I returned the shoe because it was too hard for me to get on, and I was afraid the width would not stretch out enough with the steel toe. I would buy this shoe in a pair of seconds if it came in my size, and was easier to slip on the foot. I think with wear, it would slip on with less effort.

Very comfortable, and nice looking too!

I have been wearing Timberland Titan safety shoes for years. I work as an engineer in a manufacturing environment, so I need a safety shoe that works on the shop floor and in the office. I was pleased to see that Timberland had added a slip-on shoe to the Titan family. The shoes are well made and as expected, they are just as comfortable on my feet as the lace-up versions. My one concern is that they are very tight to get on. I have to use a shoe horn. Perhaps they will loosen up over time, but I have had them for two weeks and they haven't loosened up yet. This would count against using them for travel as I do not want to struggle after airport security to get my shoes back on (minus one star). Other than that, they are a win! When I come home at the end of the day, my feet don't hurt, even after pounding them on concrete floors all day. Also, I am not embarrassed to wear them if I have to meet my wife somewhere immediately after work.

Best safety shoe for office/work area use

Update 07/24/2020. I have now been wearing this model of shoe for 8 years. The first pair finally wore out after 5 years, wearing every day, including weekends. Basically, it was just looking beat up and the sole worn down to point where slip resistance grooves were growing thin, but functionally shoes were still together. Second pair still look great after 3 years now. Just bought a third pair for when I need them. These are the best safety shoes for people who split time between office and workshop. Super comfortable, look nice, and wear like iron. I recommend these shoes to everyone I work with. Timberland should pay me commission!Original review from 2013: "I am also an engineer (actually Safety engineer) who spends part time in office and then manufacturing. Stylish enough for office, solid enough for heavy work. Great slip on. Incredibly comfortable....in fact I think its the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, of any kind. I wear these on weekends I like them so much. Had these for a year now and they look and wear well, very tough but pliable leather. I wear them every day. Just bought a second pair as they run a bit large (about a half size) so going to try one size smaller as they have stretched just a little over time. Best overall safety shoe anywhere I have found that's just as nice in the office. I've tried many over the years..most are harder leather and have to break in. These are just right out of the box.

The heel is tall

I don’t know what it is about these shoes, but the heel/sole is really tall and I have rolled my ankle 3 or 4 times now while wearing them. I had a pair of almost identical shoes from a different brand, didn’t have such a tall heel, but they were discontinued for some reason. Don’t get me wrong, These shoes are comfortable and seem solid and well made, but I just keep rolling my dang ankle in em… and yes, I’ve been wearing shoes and walking my entire life, never broken a leg or ankle, and I’ve never rolled the same ankle so many times in a short period of time as I have in these 2 or 3 week old shoes. When I put them on, it’s a noticeable lift up. I think they can knock half an inch off the soles and heels of these shoes and have a more stable product. Or make the soles a bit wider and sticking out past the shoe a few millimeters might help as well.

My First Year

It's been almost a year since I purchased my Timberland Pro Titan Slip Ons - and I still love them. I wear these 4-5 days a week. They fit great, are comfortable, and they have held up to several miles. I am not particularly hard on shoes as I am not a technician or mechanic but I am in and out of factories and plants daily. They've been exposed to rough and oily conditions and I think I've got another year or so left in them. I will buy again. I've seen the reviews about how tight they are around the ankles and they may have been when I first got them but they slip on and off comfortably now. I haven't had any issues with any rips or seams. I may wear out the soles before anything else.
