Comfortable and durable. 11W fits great out of box
This is a boot you can trust to fit and be real comfortable right out of the box!
I picked up a pair of these work boots 15 years ago at Shoe Carneval and Just recently purchased my seveth pair - this time through Amazon. Two years for a pair of work boots is fantistic in my opinion. They are lightweight, durable and waterproof. I am a warehouse/yard foreman for a construction company, so I put these things through all kinds of abuse and I must say, they hold up exceptionally well. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn all day (sometimes those days are 12 hours) with no fatigue whatsoever. The only issue I have ever had occured about four years ago during the winter when one of the soles split on the side causing a water leak. Shoe Carneval was out of my size so I bought a pair of Red Wing Irish Setters. Big mstake and waste of 189.00. Those dogs were heavy and uncomfortable - I ended up giving them away and thankfully, Shoe Carneval had my size the next week. If you move outside a lot, climb ladders or operate heavy equipment - these are the boots to wear - hands down.
These or some of the best boots I've worn, once broke they fit like a glove and or very comfortable and or the toughest boots I've worn working in briers, piling brush and just walking. It's hard to find a great fitting boot that or comfortable and made of good quality, these or both.
I bought my first pair (9.5 XW) Dec. 2015, $155. Excellent fit and I liked the height. Blessed,.... with very wide, flat feet, I really appreciate well-made shoes and boots in wide sizes that fit. I find them mostly with Clarks and New Balance. These were stiff for several days but it was not an issue. The soles have been surprisingly durable and were still decent after two years. I pretty much stopped wearing this pair after two years because the toe leather had worn through to the steel toe and they looked bad. They had begun to look pretty rough after one year. In Sept. 2017, disappointed in the toe leather, I bought my second pair (9.5W, $same). I thought that perhaps, in the herbicide spraying that I had done, I had chemically weakened the leather. I wanted to give the boots another try. Now, one year later, my experience with the second pair has been the same. They’ve been very good, comfortable boots but have developed the same worn-out appearance as the first pair. Both pair have fit very well and have been tough and durable BUT for the toe leather. I do wear them outside most everyday and give them a good workout though nothing unusual. Hope that helps.
I ordered these on Saturday (3/25/12) with STANDARD FREE SHIPPING. The boots came in Tuesday (3/27/12) which was only 2 business days...thank you Amazon! The positive reviews were pretty accurate. I have no complaint except one minor one that I will get to later. I ordered the 9 1/2 EEE for my fat feet and they feel great with no real break-in except for a little stiffness on the first day which is expected. They look great and feel like a good quality boot. The one minor problem is that I am a welder. Looking at the pictures of dozens of boot, I tried to find a boot that has a full width leather tongue so sparks and slag wont be able to penetrate the top of the boot and make me hop around on one foot while the other gets roasted! The pics looked like it had that but alas, they do not. There is a small strip of leather down the middle and a breathable (I assume it's breathable) membrane on either side. It probably makes them nice and comfy but leaves the top of my feet open for attack. My last boots were Rocky's and they had a similar feature and I wore them until they looked like flip flops so it probably is not too big of a deal. I will make another post in a month or so and give an update.
Let’s start by saying these are FAR from a professional grade boot. It’s the same subpar boot they’ve been selling for decades with an orange insole and uncomfortable steel toe. The first three weeks of wearing and breaking in the boot were absolutely miserable, so at that point I replaced the insoles with generic dr scholls and GREATLY improved the pain I started having in the soles of my feet. Like night and day difference just by getting rid of the timberland insole. The steel toe ends approximately where the toe of the shoe creases during walking, so every step leads to the steel digging in to the top of my foot. It seems like they took a random toe cap and said “looks good enough” without giving any thought to the ergonomics. Again, far from the quality of nearly every other boot manufacturer on the market. And finally, after just a couple of months of normal wear, the rubber soles are delaminating from both boots. I’ve had countless other pairs of boots wear the tread down smooth without ever having a single delaminating issue. These have the build quality of a cheap pair of Nike sneakers. All in all, I’d recommend ANY other brand of boot over these.
