I wear a definite size 9 boot in all of my Timberland boots...this boot runs very snug...so, I thick boot socks is not possible. However, Timberland is consistent in its quality, and the overall boot still provides me with a sturdy boot and a sturdy boot heel, ankle support and instep support...even at the age of 70, I am still wearing Timberland boots in the winter.
The boots look great but they are not made for a normal size foot or ankle. My daughter is thin and has a small ankle so perhaps she can wear them. That is yet to be determined. Otherwise I will have to return them. If you have any ankle wider (above the bone area) 14 inches do not buy. More than likely will be returning.
The boots are exactly as advertised. Came in without damage. I just got my usual (my usual is 0.5 bigger in all my shoes). The boots are just right on the leg area with or without thick socks, and my legs are pretty narrow. They are very warm. No pain or scratches when walking.
First order: One boot was missing the orthotic insert that the other one had. I returned them. They were a nice fit otherwise.Update: I reordered and received a perfectly brand new pair. Very comfortable. I'd say they are true to size. I am hoping they'll be as pleasing as my other 2 pairs of Timberland brand boots which I love. Wore them in the rain - they proved to be warm and waterproof!Don't expect to fold the cuff. It is attached along the zipper edges so you'd have to fold the zipper over. It is too stiff to fold.
Boots appeared to be sturdy. But, the sizing is way off. I could not even get my feet into them. Had to return.
TIMBERLAND works for my feet. They run on the narrow side and have a lot of support and cushioning. These boots are thick, waterproof leather and they will take the beating that rural life will give them all Winter.
