Loved the fit and rugged styling of this product. I loved it so much I bought one for my sibling!
I love these boots for limited walking jaunts, but not sure I will be able to love them long.First things first- Comfort--- they are comfortable for a couple of hours for me, but nor much longer (if I am on my feet). The insoles/soles, although well-supporting, are hard and the footbed is slippery so my foot sloshes just a little unless I crank the laces down to tourniquet stages. NOTE- If I snug the lower laces, I cannot get the boots on/off. To get them on/off, the laces need to be very loose due to the fairly narrow boot-body. They are a tiny bit snug on the top of my foot even with the laces slacked. They run a tad long, but not much. The 10.5 comes close to an 11 in other boots I own- great since I am a 10.75! The leather will stretch after break-in so sizing may be a crap shoot for all of us in-betweeners.The Look--- It might be difficult to see, but there are two types of leather on the boot- heels/toes (most of the lowers) are a harder, smooth-grained leather. Shafts are almost suede and very thin (then there are some lighter tan accents on the heel and tongue). I think they look great- casual, but not confused with logging boots; soles have deep enough, conventional "ring n' cross" lugs to provide sure footing in a little slop but not so tall as to teeter on Gene Simmons's hallowed ground. The Concerns--- As mentioned, the leather feels exceptionally thin and of marginal quality, particularly for a boot and especially the shafts. Thinner leather is okay for me for a casual boot, but these at least have the appearance of being somewhat rugged. It's unlikely I'd stroll through a pillow factory in them without some concern about damage. However, the thinner leather does add to the pre-break-in comfort that can plague heavier boots so there is a trade off. They are also very light (with regard to weight) for a tall boot- a good thing unless durability ends up being the compromise.Despite the concerns and petty gripes, I have been wearing them quite a bit through the late winter and juuuust might be proven wrong about my durability concerns. Stay tuned...***UPDATE- Well over 6 months of walking and they still look/feel great. I do wear them casually ONLY- cold days, light rain... but my concerns about durability have been somewhat assuaged. They get more comfortable with each outing and after a 14 hour day in them last week, I hardly knew they were there. Only lingering complaint is that the ankle area is snug so I have to unlace the top three hole sets, then slack the laces all the way down to the toe to a ridiculous point to slide my slightly high-arched feet in.
Great fit and style
I wish I could returnn them, but I have worn them once. They look too big.
They look great, and they're very comfortable. The only concern is how they'll hold up -- I've only owned them for a couple of months, and so far -- so good. I'm just hoping that I'll not have to buy another pair three months from now considering how thin the material is. If they last more than six months, I'll update my rating to five stars.
excellent shoes with high quality leather, definitely very good, five stars.
Great fit and style
