Great low drop low stack multi-purpose show
I have purchased many shoes from Topo Athletic and am a big fan of their shoes, both road and trail. I got a men's Fli-Lyte 6 and really liked it, but my size 10M is a little long, so am trying for the first time to purchase a women's shoe in size 11W which translates to 9.5M. I like the fit better. It's a little narrower and it's a nice colour variation. Overall, my experience with Topo is that the shoes are super comfortable, the foot-shaped toe-box for me is an essential, and I like the zipfoam, because it a lot of variations its not too bouncy, but is very comfortable. Important qualification: I use these shoes for walking, gym, and travel, and NOT running (but note that a number of running reviews like this shoe as a minimalist option for running). For walking, I prefer shoes without too much bounce, and not much toe spring or rocker. Lower stack shoes like the Fli-Lyte are great for this. And note by travel, I mean you can wear the same shoe for several days, and it's still comfortable. Usually at home, I rotate shoes, and never wear the same pair two days in a row. One thing to pay attention to with the Fli-Lyte and some other Topo shoes is sizing. As with all shoe brands, not every size 10 is the same fit across all models. I find that the Fli-Lyte and the MT-5 run a little long for me, while the Phantom 3 is shorter than most models, but still fits me perfectly. Which is to say, the Phantom 4 is a little longer than the Phantom 3, but both fit me very well. If you want a low drop shoe, with low stack for some gym, travel, and short miles running, the Fli-Lyte is great.
