Great shoe for my wide bunion feet. Great for my morning walks. Comfortable and waterproof. My feet don’t get sweaty. They seem lightweight compared to others I’ve tried, but super sturdy.
Basically I love these shoes! They are very comfortable since the first try on. I got the waterproof version because of our Pacific Northwest rain. It works for light rain but if you step into a puddle or two your feet WILL get wet.
I rely heavily on Amazon product reviews, so I was little hesitant to purchase these for $150 with no reviews. I am always on the hunt for a good solid shoe and I think most people would agree that it's next to impossible to find anything decent for under $100 these days. Upon further research on the company's website, I found that these are a new model for Topo, so I decided to take the plunge and purchase them without any reviews. I'm happy to leave the first Amazon review to help others in their purchasing decision. I currently have several pairs of Altra Provisions and was looking for a waterproof version of that shoe. Altra does not make a waterproof Provision and so I tried both their Lone Peak and Olympus GTX, which ARE waterproof but neither of these shoes worked for me. Upon first receiving the Topo Terraventure 4 WP, I found that they are made extremely well. I tried them on and OMG, comfort right out of the box!!! They feel way more supportive than the Altra's in that, they feel like they are hugging your foot. The area around your ankle feels like a collar - not restrictive in any way - but feels like it supports your foot from going from side to side. I also like the way the shoe feels underfoot. You can feel the entire sole making contact with the ground below, which gives an extremely supportive and steady feeling. I like a zero drop shoe, which the Altra's have and these are only 3mm drop, so I cannot really notice the difference between the two in that aspect. The toe box is very roomy like the Altra's as well. I cannot speak to running or hiking in them but with the support that they offer, I imagine they would be perfect for both. I use them for walking and for me, they are a very comfortable shoe for daily use too. They are definitely waterproof and great for inclement weather. I am a solid Size 7 but like the Altra's, these seem to run a 1/2 size small, so a 7 1/2 fit me perfectly. I like them so much that I just purchased the non-waterproof version of the Terraventure 4, which are great too! My only suggestion would be to offer these in more colors to choose from instead of just grey.
These are the best shoes I have found in decades! They are so comfortable and have a natural walking, running, hiking stance. For me, the best part is the large toe box. I have long toes and prone to Morton’s neuroma and my toes have plenty of room to move. The arch support is excellent and they are lightweight. This pair is water proof and I have been in rain the past couple of days and they performed so well. Feet were dry. Thank you!
I REALLY wanted to love these shoes. Right out of the box I could tell these shoes were great quality. I loved the shoe/boot aspect to them. They were a bit stiff but nothing a little wear-in couldn't fix. I usually wear an 8.5 and the 8.5 fit my feet perfectly.When they first arrived I thought I loved them but the more I tried them, the more I realized they just weren't what I was looking for. The toe box was a little bit snugger than expected. I could have eventually gotten over that (I have a pretty wide toe and narrow heel). Then the more I wore them the more I noticed my heel was rubbing, no matter how tight I tied them. After the 3rd try my left foot started cramping in them. That's when I realized these just weren't made for my feet :(.The shoe it's self is GREAT, I just wish my feet weren't so hard to find shoes for. But it could be great for someone else.The return process was quick and easy. I recommend keeping both the shoe and shipping box they come in in case you need to return them. They only had 1 return option. But they were quick to refund once they got the shoes back.
Ordered these just over five months ago- it has barely rained the last 2 1/2 months. Both shoes have holes wearing in them in the same place and are not waterproof at all. They were waterproof for the first 2 1/2 to 3 months top. Only pro- they are comfortable.
These are super great for walking. Their traction is great and the fit is awesome. The heel is held well in place and the toe area is roomy and so comfortable. I bought these because my daughter tried them and she wanted to share the great product. I know shoes are individual just like people so it might not work well for everyone, but I plan on ordering regular shoes when weather is right. These are water proof and I can attest to them being exactly what I bought them for- rainy weather in PNW!
