Great shoes, very well made. Just be careful getting used to them.
These are great shoes, and I love them. But approach them with caution, for they are a cruel mistress.Firstly the good; they look -amazing- in Black Cherry, and presumably other colors, I get compliments on them constantly. They are also built extremely well, and have barely any signs of wear after two months of 70+ hour work weeks. After getting used to them, they are very comfortable, my back feels great, and I have zero foot pain. Even my bum knees don't hurt as much after wearing these shoes on the job for a little over two months. The toe box is very roomy, even with the steel toe reinforcement, and my rather wide feet. The wooden soles are contoured so well that you barely notice they aren't padded, except maybe in the toe area. The non-slip out-soles grip extremely well on wet and greasy kitchen tile and walk-in floors, so I expect they'll do well on just about any surface. The craftsmanship is incredible, the shoes are clearly built extremely well, and feel like they're going to last for a very long time, which is a big part of the reason I chose these over the now made in China Danskos.Now the less than awesome; they do take some serious getting used to, especially if you're not used to wearing a true clog style shoe, which I was not. Seriously, take your time letting your feet adjust to them, I "broke them in" (more like my feet rather than the shoes) probably way too aggressively, and so experienced some discomfort through that process. A couple of stitches holding the front and back portions of the leather upper also popped out on the left shoe, but this in no way affects the integrity or function of the shoe. I wear a 45 in most European styles including all the other clogs I tried on, so I ordered these in the same, but after wearing them in they seem to be running just a bit large, which results in some rubbing especially on the outsides of the toes. So ordering a size down from normal just might be a good idea.Overall these are great looking, well made shoes and they perform extremely well. But exercise caution and patience while breaking them in if you intend to be on your feet in them for long periods of time.

Not what I expected....
These shoes were not what I expected. The sole of the shoe is completely made of wood and there was no cushioning in it which made walking around very uncomfortable. They were well made shoes, the leather was thick and nailed well, the bottom was thick also with non-skid rubber but they did not fit my foot well. I had to send they back.

Heirloom Clogs
I’ve been trying to decide who I should leave these excellent clogs to, after I’m gone. So sturdy, I know they will “out live” me. They remind me of a well-cared for cast iron skillet. They’re elegant, highly functional and long lasting. The nails that hold the leather upper to the wooden shoe bed are a statement element of the design, and set these clogs apart. Edgy, functional and sturdy as all get-out, they are worth the extra cost, because, = legacy clogs. Gotta love that. The black leather is glossy but not shiny, and of high quality. They polish up nicely. The shape is a little different, a little nerdy and slyly fashionista. I like them a lot. I ordered them a half step larger, and they’re perfect for winter socks. No regrets on this purchase.

Let me start out by saying I love the style of the shoe and once broken in they are quite comfortable. The reason for 1 star is because they are now falling apart. I have had these for about 7 months and I only wear them to work (I sit at a desk) and the a piece of the plastic that supports the back of the shoe broke at first and now the whole plastic piece just came out when walking. When I pay almost $200 for a pair of shoes I expect them to hold up better. I though I was purchasing a quality procut and was willing to pay the price, but I could have paid $40 and gotten the same result.

Shoe is way too small to be a size 11. Shoe is very good quality but extremely narrow.
Shoe was for work 12 hour shifts. Very good quality but extremely narrow. Could not even get my feet inside shoes. I returned the shoes and will size up like I did last time. I only give 3 stars because sizing is way off. I have one which I have been wearing for over a year and the shoes cannot be done. It’s big because I had to size up. Due to it being so narrow. It is a nice looking shoe and I get many compliments and gave many referrals. That’s my old pair. I will continue to purchase but wish I didn’t have to go up to a size 44 just so my feet can get in the shoe.
