Great Purchase!

I absolutely love these boots! Now keep in mind, I'm a novice rider, so my opinion may not have a lot of weight behind it.With that being said, the first time I rode (for lessons) I did so in hiking boots. As you can imagine, my feet slipped out of the stirrups quite a bit as a result. These boots helped me to better grip the stirrups, which I love! I could definitely tell the difference. The quality of the boots are great. I was nervous they wouldn't fit over my calves, but the material has a nice stretch to it, which was perfect. I'm a size 8.5, I ordered half a size up (9), and have an excellent fit. Also, I received A LOT of compliments and questions about where I purchased them, so that says a lot too; at least about the perceived quality.Overall, I'd definitely recommend.

Ok if on a budget, personally I’d splurge for a better pair

So i previously had ‘tuffrider Belmont field boots’ which lasted about a year and a half but I abused them by using them for mucking and not giving them regular care so they probably could’ve lasted longer. I’ll be comparing the ladies starter boots to those since they were similar in appearance I had hoped for something similar to my old boots. To start my old boots were made of real leather and these new boots are made from synthetic, I already knew that had been the case and had expected a quality difference but I definitely prefer real leather boots. The faux leather just seems like it will not hold up as well to water and rough use. The thing I really don’t like about these boots is they are very wide on the calf and there wasn’t a ‘slim’ option to buy. My old Belmont boots had a much closer fit to my leg which made them feel more comfortable and secure vs the starter boots which can kinda bunch up in area when I walk because of the extra space. The starter boots have a thicker sole with a little more texture for grip, my old Belmont boots had very little grip and could be slippery on smoother surfaces. The last thing is very minor but the insole isn’t attached to the inside of the boot, first time I wore them one came out when I pulled out my foot, just gave me the impression of sloppy work since securing the insole to the inside is such a basic and small thing to overlook. Overall I bought these since they were cheaper than my old boots (which I bought for $119) and had looked similar but I wish I had just splurged and bought another pair of my old boots, these are good for a budget and if you don’t plan to use them daily then many details can be overlooked.

Love these!

I am a western rider who is learning how to jump. My instructor said I really needed a pair of tall boots but I didn't want to commit to spending a ton of money on a pair. I wear a 9 or 9.5 and I ordered a 9 regular calf. They are perfect. So far so good.
