Great materials, good design for a desk job

These shoes are really great. They are not cheap in price nor quality. The leather is nice and has held up through a Michigan winter basically unscathed. The sole is grippy and durable. I replaced the laces with some locklaces (elastic) and now they are very easy to slip on with one hand but don't flop around too much on my feet. I'm very happy with the Twisted X brand and I'll probably be buying form them again.I bought this particular "driving shoe" because I have a desk job but I live in Michigan. So in winter, these are great, comfortable shoes for protecting from the snow when I'm outside but easily slipping on and off under my desk or when I get going in the morning. I also think the moc toe is stylish enough for an office setting. They are also great for driving. I have a manual and my work boots and winter boots are so bulky, it is terrible to work the clutch with them on. These are just enough boot to brush off my car but still good for driving and sitting at a desk.

Great Shoes

Are these the greatest work shoes? No. Are they the greatest hiking shoes? No. Do they go with every single outfit? Also no. But these are THE BEST all-around shoe. They’re extremely comfortable, especially with flat feet, they look good, they stand up to a ton of abuse, they age well, they last for years, and they’re reasonably priced. I’m on my second pair in six years, and I’d still be on my first pair, but around the three year mark my dog got to them. Great shoes, will buy again when my current pair goes, years from now.

Comfortable high top, looser than expected.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the shoes. Best features include high top, soft leather, light weight (some may view as "cheap," few laces, "driver-like" roll up sole. My feet are two different sizes--10 & 9.5, so opted for the 10. I have a slip-on pair in the same line which are 9.5s and fit comfortably snug, though a little too snug with crew socks. This pair is roomier, which was desired & expected and the reason I ordered a half-size larger than the slip-on. I wanted a roomier shoe to better accommodate crew socks and expected the laces to help keep them tight. The actual fit is a little looser than desired though.Biggest negative on both this high-top & the slip on versions: the soles are supposed to be non-slip "Driving Moccasins" but damn they slip off the pedal when wet, even thought my car has sport pedals with rubber cleats. Another caution: after five and a half months the sole is showing slight signs of peeling from the leather. In contrast, the slip-ons are just fine after a couple of years of heavy use.

I wore a similar pair of Justen's for years and decided to try these, Wow, I have never worn a more comfotable pair of shoes, Period. Steel toe or not.
