My Giant Calves Could Fit… After Modification
My yard is COVERED in sandburs and I’m allergic to nature. This combination makes yard work a very unpleasant experience for me. Even worse, I’m a short person and I have massive calves so it’s almost impossible to find boots that I can fit into. When the boots arrived I was slightly disappointed. Even these boots weren’t quite big enough to fit my chunky lower legs and they went almost to my knee. I was able to slide them on, squish most of the air out of the left one - creating a watertight seal that nothing could pass through. The left one still had air trapped inside, so the whole time I was mowing my lawn the boot was making a loud flatulent noise as the air squeezed itself past my flesh. I’m fairly certain that getting them off after spending a hot morning doing yard work was only possible due to sweat. Otherwise, I might have needed to cut myself out.A friend asked me why I don’t just cut it to the line few inches from the top. Of course I can’t do that, it would ruin the boots, right? In a fit of desperation and spite towards the lawn I’m so allergic to, last month I finally took a pair of scissors and cut off the top fee inches. Oh the relief! It doesn’t cut into my leg like I was worried it would and now there’s actually some space between my flesh and the boot! Trodding behind a lawnmower and whacking weeds no longer feels like I have to choose between feeling comfortable and protecting myself from the dreaded sandburs. All in all, I really like these boots. If you’re a little teapot like yours truly and you need to work outside in the mud or the stickers than this is a great buy.
